The public must pay attention to the regulations regarding restrictions on goods brought in from abroad to avoid misunderstandings
Jakarta – Head of the Main Customs Service Office, Soekarno Hatta, Gatot Sugeng Wibowo, said that the rules for restricting goods brought in from abroad are in line with Minister of Trade Regulation Number 36 of 2023 concerning Import Policies and Regulations.
The public must know these regulations so that they do not misunderstand and end up blaming existing policies. On the other hand, this regulation is of course to regulate imports.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Main Customs Service Office, Soekarno Hatta, Gatot Sugeng Wibowo, while in Jakarta, Tuesday (7/5/2024).
According to him, the principal provisions of Minister of Trade Regulation Number 36 of 2023 which are entrusted to Customs and Excise include restructuring import policies by shifting import supervision of several goods and Post-Border to Border.
“This regulation shifts commodities whose import controls are Post-Border back to Border, namely electronics, footwear, textile goods, bags and shoes,” said Gatot in his statement.
The following are details of the amount of luggage that can be brought from abroad:
Footwear = 2 pairs per passenger
Bags = 2 pieces per passenger
Other finished textile goods = 5 pieces per passenger
Electronics = 5 units with a maximum total free on board (FOB) of 1,500 United States dollars per passenger
Cellular phones, handhelds and tablet computers = 2 pieces per passenger for a period of 1 year.
Meanwhile, the Director of Communications and Service User Guidance, Nirwala Dwi Heryanto, said that the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance has never hired the services of content creators or influencers as buzzers on social media.
“However, we have collaborated with several influencers to educate the public regarding customs and excise services,” he said.
Menurut Nirwala, selain menggandeng beberapa influencer, Bea Cukai juga secara aktif dan rutin memberikan edukasi dan sosialisasi bagi masyarakat. [red]
