The 10th WWF Organizes a Strategic Partnership for Global Water Conservation
Fiji – As host, the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali, is expected to inspire innovation in sustainable water management and promote its implementation throughout the world. It is also believed that WWF 2024 will bring global solutions as an answer to various water issues due to climate change.
Special Staff to the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia for Water Resources, Firdaus Ali, said that the 2024 World Water Forum event could form strategic and collaborative partnerships for global water conservation initiatives.
“The 10th World Water Forum in Bali plays a role in strengthening international cooperation. Through this forum, countries can form strategic and collaborative partnerships to support global water conservation initiatives,” said Firdaus in Jakarta.
Firdaus also said that the WWF event played a role in opening global discussions by providing a platform for stakeholders from various countries and backgrounds to share knowledge, experience and best practices in conservation and management of water resources.
WWF will encourage innovation where Bali as the host can inspire innovation in sustainable water management technology and promote its implementation throughout the world. One way is through the Subak system which has been recognized by UNESCO as one of the world’s rich heritage in community-based irrigation systems.
“This forum provides an opportunity to formulate or update policies that support water conservation and efficient and effective water resource management. Apart from that, increasing public awareness about the importance of water conservation, and the challenges faced in sustainable water resources management,” he added. []
