Indonesia Receives Appreciation for Realizing a Number of Agreements at the 10th WWF

Bali – Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that as host of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) 2024, Indonesia not only held the event well but also provided concrete and maximum results and impacts that received praise from various parties.

“Indonesia has succeeded in hosting several international events, and this is the 10th WWF. We have prepared as well as possible, both the implementation and the output must be maximum,” said Coordinating Minister Luhut in Nusa Dua Bali.

According to him, the Government has shown that Indonesia has concrete actions in managing its large water resources, for example the Ministry of Public Works and People’s Development (PUPR) which has built 36 dams from the target of 61 dams.

“The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) has also carried out water conservation through forest rehabilitation covering an area of 179 million hectares. This is one thing that shows that Indonesia is serious about concrete actions like this,” he said.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, also conveyed the same thing that holding the WWF event in Bali was a historical milestone for Indonesia in terms of water management.

“We believe that WWF in Bali is a historical milestone for Indonesia and Bali to play a strategic role in water management with local wisdom,” said Sandiaga.

Meanwhile, President of the World Water Council (WWC), Louic Fauchon, expressed his appreciation to Indonesia for being willing to host the 10th WWF in Bali.

“I would like to thank Indonesia, both President Jokowi’s government, for successfully holding this forum professionally,” said Loic.

Meanwhile, in terms of security, the General Manager of The Nest Hotel and Agranusa Signature Villa, Fajri Roesman, appreciated the security carried out by the National Police for the smooth running of WWF. The National Police is considered to have worked optimally and professionally in securing this international agenda.

“Everything happened thanks to the coordination and cooperation and arrangements carried out by the National Police, which was extraordinary,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Vicar General of the Denpasar Diocese, Father Yosef Wora, said that his party assessed that the National Police had succeeded in securing the 10th World Water Forum (WWF). The diocese assessed that the participants were satisfied with the National Police’s services.

“After seeing and hearing, the Police have done everything well. So that this meeting will take place safely and the participants will definitely be satisfied with the services provided by the National Police,” said Yosef. [*]
