Indonesia : Society Must Continue to Maintain Harmony Ahead of the 2024 Regional Elections:

The government is currently continuing to strive to strengthen inter-religious harmony as an effort to maintain a conducive climate in a number of regions ahead of the 2024 Regional Head Elections. The approaching regional election process must be respected jointly by all elements of society in order to create a safe and peaceful situation.
The Mayor of Central Jakarta, Dhany Sukma, said that the 2024 Pilkada is a natural process to present a leader who will manage a region, including Jakarta, and avoid polarization to avoid conflict. According to Dhany, differences in aspirations and opinions are normal in a Regional Head Election. After the Pilkada ends, the community must unite again to develop Indonesia, especially Jakarta.
Then, the existence of religious institutions can contribute to uniting society. Religious institutions in Indonesia must really be able to reduce potential conflicts ahead of the regional elections in November 2024. In this way, the situation and conditions of the 2024 Pilkada can create understanding, mutual respect and appreciation, and will strengthen the unity and unity of society.
In line with Dhany Sukma, Mayor of Metro, Lampung, Wahdi Siradjuddin appealed to the people of Bumi Sai Wawai to maintain harmony between religious communities, especially ahead of the upcoming 2024 regional elections. Furthermore, community leaders in regions throughout Indonesia have a role as the spearhead in maintaining conduciveness and harmony in social life. Not only that, their presence and participation must be appreciated on an ongoing basis. This is because community leaders can become agents in socializing various development activity programs carried out by the Government.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Village Community Empowerment Institute (LPMK), Notoprajan Wijiyono, said that his party was committed to continuing to maintain harmony and peace amidst the existing diversity. He said that differences in choices certainly occur, but harmony and tolerance must continue to be strengthened so that the city of Yogyakarta becomes more comfortable and safe.
Issues of security and peace are a shared responsibility. Therefore, there is a need for cooperation and synergy from all parties to care about the surrounding environment to create a safe and conducive situation ahead of the 2024 regional elections. The community is also expected to continue to strengthen ties of brotherhood, and work together in continuing and supporting the Government in advancing Indonesia, so that Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) are an opportunity to strengthen national unity and integrity.
