The Nusantara Student Dormitory ‘AMN’ as a forum for the cadre formation of the young generation towards a golden Indonesia

Jakarta – The Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) is a cadre formation forum to prepare future leaders towards Golden Indonesia 2045. By selecting the best children from all regions of the archipelago, there will be a regeneration of leaders with character who love their culture and homeland.

This was said by the Special Staff of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Steering Committee, Father Benny Susetyo, during an interview with a private radio station in Jakarta.

“At AMN students can learn many things, such as rhetoric, organizing, building arguments and public opinion. So AMN is not only a place to rest, but also activities to enrich insight,” said Father Benny.

On this occasion, Father Benny also explained that the construction of AMN in Manado was ideal, because it would not only be filled by students from Manado, but also other regions in Indonesia.

“If you want to build a diverse Indonesia, collaboration through inclusive education like this is really needed, so that the quality of human resources with character also increases,” he said.

He said that in order to prepare future leaders, the important role of cross-religious and cross-cultural dormitories is needed.

“In the dormitory, character education and discipline will be instilled, as well as the formation of a spirit of nationalism. So, religious, cultural and ethnic differences will actually enrich each other even more,” said Father Benny

In this way, continued Father Benny, future leaders can be created who act locally and think globally.

According to Father Benny, AMN Manado could become a candradimuka crater for the nation’s next generation of young people, so more and more dormitories must be built that are not only special, but also inclusive.

“Students can understand and accept different cultures and practices. This will encourage the formation of a joint commitment,” he added.

In the context of being a forum for unifying the nation, AMN can increase bonds of brotherhood because it strengthens the values of Pancasila, citizenship, national insight, as well as an emphasis on love for the nation and state. Moreover, the time spent by students in the dormitory is quite long. Coupled with skills that continue to be honed while in the dormitory, quality human resources will be created.
