2nd IPPP, Indonesia Pays Attention to Green Economic Development

Jakarta – Chairman of the DPR’s Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), Fadli Zon, said that the DPR’s BKSAP will pay attention to the development of the green economy by focusing on community welfare so that it has an impact on improving human resource skills and sustainable use of natural resources.This was conveyed by the Chairman of the DPR’s Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), Fadli Zon, when met by media crew in Jakarta.Fadli Zon explained that this IPPP meeting would discuss issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the lives of Indonesia, Asia Pacific countries, and even the world.The theme of the 2nd IPPP is “Partnership for prosperity: fostering regional connectivity and inclusive development.”It is hoped that the results of this IPPP will be input for the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting or PIF Summit which will be held in Tonga, Central Africa, 26-30 August 2024,” said Fadli Zon.Apart from that, this IPPP meeting will also formulate the concept of preserving natural resources (SDA) in each country to share with each other for the common good.”This is in order to solve current challenges such as climate change, food security and so on,” said the politician from the Gerindra Party faction.He hopes that this forum will open dialogue and communication between countries in the Pacific region. Indonesia, whose archipelago is in contact with two oceans, has an important position in the geopolitics of this region.“Most of us already know them. So that if there are related issues, for example about the situation in Papua and others, we can explain them clearly. Of course this (forum) is important for our national interestsThe first IPPP was in 2018. IPPP is a gateway to open relations between the Indonesian parliament and Pacific countries. At that time, Fadli served as Deputy Chair of the DPR RI for the 2014-2019 period, and for the first time the DPR RI invited 16 Pacific Countries to participate in the IPPP. Fadli Zon, explained that currently seven parliaments from Pacific countries have confirmed that they will attend the regional agenda.The Indonesian Parliament will host the 2nd Indonesia-Pacific Parliamentary Partnership (IPPP). This celebration will take place on 24-26 July 2024 in Jakarta. []
