Security Forces Strong Commitment to Eradicate OPM Perpetrators of School Burning

All levels of security forces have a very strong commitment to eradicating the existence of the Free Papua Organization (OPM), especially those who were the perpetrators of the school fire in the Okbab District.
The eradication of OPM, the perpetrators of the school arson, is very important and the strong commitment of the security forces in making this happen deserves high appreciation.
Because, with the participation of the security forces in eradicating the presence of OPM, especially those who set fire to schools, it will help bring about peace and tranquility in the area nicknamed Bumi Cenderawasih.
The Indonesian National Army (TNI) immediately pursued a group of separatist enemies of the country who had committed a very heinous and barbaric act, namely burning down the Okbab State Junior High School (SMPN) in the Papua Mountains on Saturday 13 July 2024.
Head of Regional Information for the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command (Kapendam), Lieutenant Colonel Infantry (Lt. Col. Inf) Candra Kurniawan strongly condemned the act of arson which clearly damaged educational facilities.
Not only does it cause damage to the government’s educational facilities for the indigenous Papuan community (OAP), but OPM’s barbaric actions can also destroy the future of children in the region.
For your information, the actions of burning schools keep repeating and indeed all this time the terrorist gang from Bumi Cenderawasih wants the children there not to go to school, therefore they destroy the future of the next generation who actually have very high spirits and are enthusiastic about learning.
Because of OPM’s heinous actions, the security forces immediately went after the separatist gang, because after they set fire to the school in Okbab, the perpetrators immediately ran away.
The security forces, including Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih, continue to be committed to being able to maintain security and order in the local area so that the government’s ongoing development acceleration efforts can run smoothly.
Chair of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Meutya Hafid continues to support the Government’s efforts and seriousness to maintain political, economic, social and security stability in Papua.
This support is in response to the OPM movement which has continued to be massive and has recently given rise to conflict again in Bumi Cenderawasih. This has made many parties concerned, including council members, so they fully support the government’s concrete steps to focus on resolving the conflict and realizing security stability in Papua.
So far, the government continues to optimize its handling efforts to overcome various anarchic actions from the Free Papua Organization, namely by continuing to prioritize the security of the local community.
The presence of security forces such as TNI troops, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) is really needed by the Papuan people to strengthen the security system in areas that have been prone to OPM attacks.
Apart from that, other efforts from the government, namely by facilitating investment activities in the context of infrastructure development including education and improving community welfare, can clearly help reduce security instability in Papua.
All the steps to accelerate development that the government is intensifying continue to take place in a sustainable manner and have a very positive impact, as well as being a concrete manifestation of the state’s support for the Papuan people.
Likewise, the National Police also emphasized its commitment to always maintain the stability of security and order in the community (kamtibmas) in the Bumi Cenderawasih region. One of the efforts is to continue to extend the implementation of the 2024 Cartenz Peace Operation.
According to the Head of Cartenz 2024 Peace Operations, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, their main focus is on enforcing the law against the Free Papua Organization.
Other operational functions that the security forces carry out include community development, detection and community relations, which receive full support from the law enforcement task force (Task Force) and the operational targets cover all regions in Papua.
With this operation, the security situation in the area nicknamed Little Heaven that Fell to Earth will continue to be stable. Meanwhile, OPM’s strict law enforcement efforts can create a safer and more peaceful Papua.
Every soldier in the security forces today, if they meet and discover the presence of the OPM, will not hesitate to act very firmly. Of course, it’s not without reason, considering their history of violence, cruel and barbaric actions on Earth of Cenderawasih so far, firm action is all they deserve.
The very strong commitment from all levels of security forces in efforts to eradicate the existence of OPM, especially those who burned the school in the Okbab District which has destroyed the future of local children deserves very high appreciation for realizing progress in the Land of Papua. The public is also encouraged to always support the OPM’s commitment to law enforcement so that peace in Papua can be realized.
