AMANAH Promotes Mutual Cooperation with Youth for Waste Cleaning and Recycling
Aceh — Aneuk Muda Aceh Unggul dan Hebat (AMANAH) is promoting mutual cooperation efforts with local youth to clean and recycle waste.
Hundreds of residents participated in the clean-up activity at Ladong Beach in Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar Regency on Saturday (3/8).
With the action of AMANAH and the youth, they managed to collect hundreds of kilograms of organic and non-organic waste.
The waste cleaning activity initiated by AMANAH also involved a number of participants such as students of SMPN 3 Mesjid Saya, students and lecturers of Syiah Kuala University (USK), start-ups and several environmentalist communities.
Director of USK Waste Bank, Ir. Rama Herawati admitted that the event represented the spirit of mutual cooperation.
“The event is us working together on the beach to clean up the waste in a sorted state. Because, all this waste will be taken to their respective places to be recycled,” he said.
Not only carrying out clean-up actions, but AMANAH also provides education to all participants.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Aceh Besar Environmental Service (DLH), Muwardi explained that his party together with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) initiation institution continues to intensify cleaning in public places.
The reason is, cleaning up the waste is also in order to welcome the XXI Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) which will take place on September 8-20 as well as enlivening the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
“Currently, his party is intensively cleaning public places, such as sidewalks/roads, places of worship and tourist locations which are certain to be visited by many contingents from outside the region when PON takes place in Aceh,” said Muwardi.
“Especially for Aceh Besar which also gets a number of venues to hold the intended event matches,” he added.
“We are working with the AMANAH institution and environmental communication to clean the Ladong beach area,” said the Head of the Aceh Besar DLH.
Furthermore, the Head of Waste Management and LB3 Aceh Besar, Mulyadi said that the DLH also supports car and motorized pedicab facilities in beach cleaning activities to transport waste.
“We also support waste transport fleets, and the beach cleaning activities in Ladong were successfully carried out with the participation of the environmentalist community and the AMANAH Institute,” he said.
