Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN), Unifying Students from Various Corners of Indonesia

Manado – The Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) is once again the center of attention as a symbol of Indonesia’s unity and diversity. AMN is home to hundreds of students from various corners of Indonesia. In Manado, AMN is expected to become a center for unity and character development for the young generation pursuing higher education at various universities in the city of Manado and its surroundings.

Unsrat Manado Academic Head, William Pangemanan, said that Unsrat Manado fully supports the existence of AMN Manado.

“The management of the dormitory has been handed over to Unsrat Manado with the preparation of a student curriculum plan required to be completed within a period of 2 years (4 semesters),” said William.

Apart from that, he continued, in the management process of AMN Manado it is planned that there will be guidance for the residents.

“Unsrat Manado has also carried out a visit to the AMN Manado location to see the development progress,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture’s Higher Education Financing Center, Anton Rahmadi, said that based on the results of the meeting with the AMN Working Group of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), there were two things that needed attention in the selection process.

“The thing that needs to be prioritized is related to the National Insight of the Republic of Indonesia and Diversity,” said Anton.

For your information, the construction of the Manado Archipelago Student Dormitory (AMN) is a form of follow-up to the Indonesian President’s Directive at the inauguration of Cipta Karya activities in Manado, North Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, the general basis for the construction of Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) is based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) no. 106 of 2021, in addition to Law BG and PP no 16/2021.

Previously, the Archipelago Student Dormitory (AMN) had been built in the City of Heroes, Surabaya. Various activities and achievements have been achieved by AMN students assisted by BIN.

An outstanding student from AMN Surabaya from Surabaya State University, succeeded in becoming a representative to study in Vietnam. Maria Putri Christian, from the Faculty of Languages ​​and Arts, was selected as one of the recipients of the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) Scholarship program.

The Executive Director of the Surabaya Nusantara Student Dormitory, expressed his pride in the achievements achieved by Maria Putri.

“This is proof that the students of the Surabaya Nusantara Student Dormitory are able to compete at the international level. “We hope that this achievement can motivate other students to continue to excel and make the nation proud,” said Dr. Bambang S. One of the aims of AMN’s presence is to facilitate academic and non-academic activities that can develop students’ potential and skills as a whole, as well as strengthen relationships between students from various cultural backgrounds, thereby increasing the sense of unity and oneness among Indonesian students.
