AMN Nusantara Student Dormitory, Cadre of National Leaders with Pancasila Character

The existence of Student Dormitory or AMN in Manado, North Sulawesi Province has received full support from academic circles. This was conveyed directly by the Head of Academic Affairs at Sam Ratulangi University, William Pangemanan.

“Unsrat Manado fully supports the existence of AMN Manado, where the management of the dormitory has been handed over to Unsrat Manado,” said William.

The plan, added William, is that AMN residents will use the mandatory curriculum to be completed within a period of 2 years or the equivalent of 4 semesters.

According to the Academic Office of Sam Ratulangi University, AMN in Manado will not only provide accommodation facilities for students, but will also provide various training and coaching for its residents.

“In the management process of AMN Manado, it is planned that there will be guidance for the residents,” explained William.

Previously, Special Staff of the Steering Committee of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Benny Susetyo spoke about the importance of developing AMN.

The man who is familiarly called Father Benny believes that AMN is not just a place to live, but also a place where character education and discipline are instilled.

“In the dormitory, students will learn to respect religious, cultural and ethnic differences, which will ultimately enrich each other. “This will produce future leaders who think globally but still act locally,” said Father Benny.

Furthermore, he believes that students will learn many things through the AMN program.

“At AMN, students can learn many things, such as rhetoric, organization, and building arguments and public opinion. “So, AMN is not only a place to rest, but also a place for activities to enrich insight,” he concluded.

As is known, the AMN program is a direct instruction from President Jokowi to build student harmony between regions. This is stated in Presidential Regulation Number 106 of 2021.

Currently the Government is building AMN facilities in Manado. Meanwhile, AMN Surabaya was inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo accompanied by the Head of the State Intelligence Agency, General Police (P), Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, S.H., M.Sc., Ph.D on November 29 2022.
