Thousands of Joint Personnel Ensure Security Ahead of the Indonesia-Africa Forum 2 in Bali

Jakarta – The Bali Police, along with the national police force, are preparing to secure the implementation of the second Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) and the High Level Forum On Multi Stakeholders Partnership (HLF-MSP) 2024, which will be held in Bali from September 1 to 3. A total of 4,523 combined personnel have been deployed to ensure the smoothness and security of the two international events.

“This security operation is code-named ‘Puri Agung II 2024’ and will take place from August 31 to September 4,” stated the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, in a written statement on Tuesday (August 20).

The details of the personnel deployed include 1,459 personnel from the National Police Headquarters, 2,464 personnel from the Bali Regional Police, as well as support from the East Java Regional Police and the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, each providing 300 personnel. The deployment of personnel from these supporting regions is carried out to strengthen security in Bali as the main location for the event.

“In addition to the police personnel, we will also collaborate with the military, the Presidential Security Force, and the National Counterterrorism Agency to ensure security during the event,” Sandi added.

The IAF and HLF-MSP 2024 are expected to be attended by 51 heads of state and 1,500 representatives from various international organizations and business sectors. With a large number of participants, security becomes a very crucial matter.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the IX/Udayana Military Region, Major General TNI Muhammad Zamroni, S.I.P., M.Si., led a parade of troops for the regional security and evacuation task force. Taking place at the Puputan Niti Mandala Renon Field, Denpasar, on Tuesday (August 27). This is in the context of securing the 2nd Indonesia Africa Forum (IAF) and the High Level Forum On Multi Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF-MSP) 2024.

As the Commander of the Regional Security Task Force (Dansatgas Pamwil), Major General Zamroni stated that the IX/Udayana Military Command has once again been entrusted with securing an international event in Bali.

“Because in previous events, we were also able to carry out security successfully,” said Zamroni.
