Indonesia is ready to host ISF 2024 in Jakarta.
Jakarta, – Reflecting on the success of the Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF) in 2023, this year, Indonesia is ready to hold the ISF again but on a larger scale.
Together with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), the ISF, which is now transforming its name to the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF), is scheduled to take place on September 5-6, 2024.
The event to be held in Jakarta will be the largest sustainability conference in Indonesia and even globally. This event will bring together policymakers, experts, and investors from around the world to build partnerships in the field of sustainability in order to accelerate the growth of the global green economy.
“The success of the Indonesia Sustainability Forum last year demonstrates how concrete Indonesia’s opportunities are in leading and promoting fundamental global initiatives and collaborations essential for achieving fair and equal opportunities for countries to implement decarbonization,” said the Deputy Coordinator for Transportation and Infrastructure at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Rachmat Kaimuddin.
To maintain that momentum, Deputy Rahmat explained that this year a similar forum will be held and will be transformed into the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024.
“The hope is that this name transformation will further strengthen ISF’s position as an international forum for sustainable growth and climate influence in the global order,” added Deputy Rachmat.
Not only that, the ISF 2024 will also be a concrete action of collaboration between developed and developing countries in addressing the climate crisis. The ISF is expected to produce solutions that support the operation of financial and non-financial levers (technology, human resources, policies, and international collaboration) that are key to accelerating the realization of sustainable growth.
For this reason, ISF 2024 will focus on 5 discussion pillars: green economy, energy transition, biodiversity and nature conservation, sustainable living, and the blue economy. (Blue Economy).
Similarly, Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, the Deputy Chairperson of the Coordinating Board for Maritime Affairs, Investment, and Foreign Affairs of Kadin Indonesia, stated that the ISF 2024 event also serves as a platform for Indonesia to showcase its strategic position in efforts to promote sustainable green economic growth.
“Global leadership as an economic force for Indonesia has great potential, supported by the abundance of resources, ranging from critical minerals like nickel and tin to vast tropical forests, positioning Indonesia strategically to become a leader in the region and the world in accelerating sustainable economic practices to drive economic growth,” said WKU Shinta.
