ISF Strategic Platform Enhances Global Economic and Investment Cooperation
Jakarta – Indonesia will host the International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024, which will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Central Jakarta on September 5-6, 2024. ISF is believed to be a strategic platform for enhancing global economic cooperation and investment.
The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, stated that the ISF 2024 encompasses five main pillars necessary for achieving sustainable development.
“Five main pillars are needed to achieve sustainable development, namely energy transition, green industry, biodiversity and nature conservation, sustainable living, and blue economy,” he explained.
This forum also includes key drivers of sustainable development in both financial and non-financial sectors, covering Green Finance & Carbon Pricing, technology, human resources, as well as policies & international collaboration. It is expected to be the largest sustainability conference in Indonesia and the world, bringing together policymakers, experts, and investors from around the globe to discuss various important issues related to sustainability and the green economy.
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination, Rachmat Kaimuddin, stated the importance of ISF 2024 as the main platform to bring together world leaders, ministers, and experts from various sectors.
“ISF 2024 is designed to be a forum that not only discusses sustainability issues but also offers real solutions through plenary sessions and in-depth thematic discussions,” he said.
Several strategic topics that will be raised include energy transition, blue economy, green finance, and sustainable technology.
On the other hand, the Acting Head of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Dwikorita Karnawati, highlighted that as a precautionary measure to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely, BMKG is preparing a Weather Modification Operation.
Dwikorita also added that there is a strong commitment from BMKG to support the smooth running of the entire International Sustainability Forum.
“We are fully prepared to provide support, and if there is an opportunity, we invite the relevant parties to visit the BMKG headquarters, where we will present complete and accurate data,” he stated.
