Maintaining Conduciveness During the Transition of President Jokowi’s Leadership to Prabowo-Gibran

The transition of government from President Joko Widodo to President-elect Prabowo Subianto is an important moment for the Indonesian nation, which requires serious attention from various parties. This transition is not just a change of leadership, but also plays an important role in maintaining the continuity of national development that has been pioneered during President Jokowi’s two terms of government. Therefore, political and security stability are the main factors that must be maintained to ensure that this process runs smoothly and without disruption.
At the central government level, President Joko Widodo emphasized the importance of maintaining national stability during the transition period. For this reason, security forces, such as the TNI and Polri to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), have a great responsibility in ensuring that the country’s conditions remain safe and under control. Their role is very vital, especially in dealing with various potential disturbances that may arise during the transition period. The central government has also given firm directions so that the situation remains conducive, and any form of disturbance that could hinder the transition process must be anticipated and dealt with firmly.
At the regional level, the Association of Provincial Governments of Indonesia (APPSI) also took an active role in supporting the smooth running of this transition. In this regard, the General Chairperson of the Association of Indonesian Provincial Governments (APPSI), Al Haris said
APPSI emphasizes the importance of maintaining conduciveness in each region, especially ahead of the upcoming 2024 simultaneous regional elections. Not only that, regional governments have a great responsibility to ensure that the transition process is not disrupted by political or social turmoil in their respective regions. They must also work together with the central government to maintain unity and stability throughout the country.
Apart from the government, support also comes from trade unions. Deputy General Chairperson of KSPSI led by Yorrys Raweyai, Arnod Sihite hopes that the transition of national leadership to President-elect Prabowo Subianto will take place safely and peacefully. Trade unions realize that political stability is very important to maintain calm and security, so that various development agendas that have an impact on the welfare of workers and the general public can continue to run smoothly. In a stable political situation, the relationship between the government, society, and the business world can be maintained well, which will ultimately benefit all Indonesian people.
The importance of maintaining this stability is also closely related to the continuity of national development. During his leadership, President Joko Widodo has laid a strong foundation for infrastructure development and economic growth. Therefore, the transition period should be seen as an opportunity to continue planned projects, while preparing new steps under the leadership of President-elect Prabowo Subianto. The sustainability of this development is very important so that there is no stagnation or delay in the implementation of planned programs.
Unity and cooperation among political elites are also key. When political leaders unite and are able to maintain stable relations between them, the risk of conflict or social disruption can be minimized. Thus, the political atmosphere will be calmer and more conducive, so that the community can feel certainty and calm in facing changes in leadership.
In addition to the role of the central government, regional governments, and security institutions, the community also plays an important role in maintaining a conducive situation during the transition period of government from President Joko Widodo to President-elect Prabowo Subianto. As the main component in national and state life, the community has a great responsibility to participate in creating a safe and peaceful atmosphere amidst changes in leadership.
In a transition period that is prone to uncertainty, active community participation is needed to maintain stability. The community is expected to demonstrate political maturity by not being easily provoked by issues that can divide unity. In the current era of fast-paced information, various hoaxes and provocations often appear, especially on social media. Therefore, it is important for the community to be wiser in receiving and disseminating information, by ensuring the truth of the source of the information obtained. Responsible use of social media can be one way to prevent the spread of news that has the potential to disrupt national stability.In addition, the community also needs to avoid actions that can trigger conflict, both at the local and national levels. Harmony between fellow citizens, both in small communities such as residential areas and in interactions in wider public spaces, needs to be maintained. The community can play its role by creating constructive dialogues and supporting a peaceful transition process. Respecting differences in political choices and maintaining healthy communication between supporters of various parties is one of the keys to ensuring that this transition is not colored by social tension.
Ultimately, the success of this government transition depends greatly on the cooperation of all parties, both at the central, regional, and general public levels. With a shared commitment to maintaining stability, security, and the continuity of national development, Indonesia can go through this transition period safely and peacefully. The transition process from President Joko Widodo to President-elect Prabowo Subianto is expected to be the beginning of a new chapter that will lead Indonesia to greater progress, while maintaining the political and social stability that has been built.
