During the decade of President Joko Widodo’s leadership, Indonesia has experienced major leaps in the social and economic sectors. President Jokowi, who took office in 2014, has committed to encouraging inclusive and sustainable economic growth, and ensuring that all levels of society feel the benefits.

The policies initiated by the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia not only focus on accelerating infrastructure development, but also on creating job opportunities and eradicating extreme poverty.

Since the beginning of his leadership, President Jokowi has emphasized the importance of building an economy based on social justice. On various occasions, the leader of the nation who was born in Surakarta City said that the fulfillment of Human Rights (HAM) in the social, economic, and cultural fields must continue to be pursued.

One of the main priorities of his government is to eradicate extreme poverty to zero percent in the shortest possible time. In addition, the Head of State is also committed to opening up job opportunities as widely as possible, so that future generations can enjoy better social and economic conditions.

One of the main achievements of President Joko Widodo’s government is the creation of a strong foundation for long-term economic growth. Deputy for Macroeconomic and Financial Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ferry Irawan, highlighted that the Indonesian economic growth plan pioneered by President Jokowi is expected to be able to accelerate to 6-7% from 2025 to 2045.

This economic legacy is expected to bring Indonesia to the status of a developed country, where high economic growth is the main pillar in maintaining stability and people’s welfare. This effort has begun with various structural reforms, increased investment, and strengthening exports that have been carried out consistently by the government.

In the social sector, the government under President Jokowi’s leadership continues to encourage programs aimed at improving people’s welfare. Programs such as the Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS), Smart Indonesia Card (KIP), and other social assistance have had a significant positive impact.

In addition to focusing on the economy and social, President Jokowi has also succeeded in utilizing technology and data to drive efficiency in various sectors. One prominent example is the implementation of the One Map Policy which is designed to address the problem of economic leakage.

The Minister of Defense and President-elect in the 2024 Election, Prabowo Subianto, acknowledged that the policy has had a major impact in overcoming inefficiencies that have hampered Indonesia’s economic growth.

By using a single, accurate map, this policy allows the government to be more effective in managing natural resources and land, so that the benefits can be felt directly by the community.

President Jokowi’s leadership has also strengthened Indonesia’s position in the eyes of the world. Through proactive economic diplomacy, Indonesia has succeeded in attracting more foreign investment, especially in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, and technology.

This success cannot be separated from the efforts of the Head of State to create a conducive investment climate and provide legal certainty for investors. With increased investment, Indonesia not only creates new jobs but also moves the economy more dynamically.

In addition, these achievements in the social and economic fields also show that President Jokowi has succeeded in carrying out his vision of creating a government that sides with the people.

By ensuring that every policy implemented provides real benefits to the community, he has shown that an effective government is a government that listens to and responds to the needs of its people.

During his 10 years of leadership, President Jokowi has faced various challenges, both at the national and international levels. However, his commitment to continue building a better Indonesia has never wavered.

Thus, the legacy he left behind is not just an achievement in statistical figures, but a legacy that will continue to be remembered and felt by future generations.

This success shows that President Jokowi’s grand vision to bring Indonesia to a more advanced direction is not just a promise, but has been realized in various real policies.

These ten years of leadership have proven that with the right strategy and strong commitment, Indonesia is able to move further towards a brighter future.
