President Prabowo’s Firm Commitment to Eradicating Online Gambling

President Prabowo Subianto’s government has shown a strong commitment to facing various serious challenges that threaten the security and order of the Indonesian people. One of the issues that is the main focus of President Prabowo is eradicating online gambling, a phenomenon that has spread widely in society and harmed many parties.
In addition to being a threat to economic stability, online gambling also triggers other crimes, such as drugs and corruption. In his direction, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of synergy between law enforcement and the use of technology as the key to eradicating this problem.
The strategic steps taken by the government in dealing with online gambling not only show the government’s determination to maintain national security, but also show a measurable and sustainable vision in protecting society from the negative threats of digital globalization.
President Prabowo Subianto has specifically ordered the Attorney General, the Chief of Police, and the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to focus on serious threats such as online gambling, drugs, and corruption. This action is part of President Prabowo’s commitment to creating a clean and strong government.
Strict law enforcement and good use of intelligence are important elements in this strategy. President Prabowo emphasized that threats like this can be minimized with close cooperation between institutions, non-discriminatory law enforcement, and strong evidence in every legal process. This is important not only to uphold justice but also to create public trust in the government’s performance.
In addition to strict law enforcement, President Prabowo also emphasized the need to utilize technology to eradicate online gambling. Facing increasingly sophisticated cybercrime requires collective efforts involving various parties, including the government, society, and the private sector.
In this regard, the President emphasized the important role of the Ministry of Communication and Digital, which is under the leadership of Meutya Hafid. According to Meutya Hafid, the addition of the word “digital” to the name of the ministry is a strategic step to adapt to technological developments and the challenges that arise from the digitalization era.
Meutya Hafid explained that she had been ordered by President Prabowo to combat online gambling intensively. This will be realized by strengthening regulations and improving digital infrastructure to make it safer from cybercrime.
Collaboration between his ministry and law enforcement officers is an important aspect in breaking the chain of online gambling circulation, which has harmed many groups in Indonesia, especially the younger generation.
Online gambling not only damages the morality and integrity of society, but also has a major economic impact. Money used for gambling flows abroad, creating significant economic leakage. This causes major losses, both at the individual level and at the national level. The government views that handling this problem requires a comprehensive approach, both from a legal, economic, and social perspective.
In this regard, President Prabowo has also ordered related institutions to increase supervision of online gambling practices, especially in terms of illegal fund transfers that are often used to fund these activities.
Not only that, a preventive approach through education for the public is also an important agenda in this program. By making the public aware of the dangers of online gambling, it is hoped that public participation in helping the government eradicate this crime will increase.
In addition to strict law enforcement, President Prabowo also emphasized the importance of proper education for all Indonesian children. President Prabowo sees that one of the long-term solutions to overcome various forms of crime, including online gambling, is to provide equal and quality access to education.
Good education can equip the younger generation with the knowledge and skills needed to avoid the temptation of cybercrime and other criminal acts.
Collaboration between various government agencies, such as the Ministry of Communication and Digital, the National Police, BIN, and other related institutions, is expected to create an ecosystem that can effectively overcome the threat of online gambling. Strict law enforcement, coupled with the use of appropriate technology, is believed to be able to eradicate criminal networks operating in cyberspace.
