Government Increases Online Gambling Eradication Steps, Firmly Zero Tolerance
Jakarta – The government continues to show a serious commitment to eradicating online gambling practices that have harmed the wider community. President Prabowo Subianto, in a cabinet meeting held yesterday, emphasized that there should be no compromise or protection for online gambling perpetrators. The President instructed all ministries and institutions to work together in an integrated manner to deal with this problem until it is resolved.
“The President instructed that there should be no collusion or protection for online gambling perpetrators. He emphasized cross-ministerial and institutional cooperation to eradicate this problem completely,” said Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid
The President also said that the fight against online gambling must be viewed as a long-term effort and not just a momentary operation. President Prabowo emphasized that the common people are often victims of this illegal practice, so the state needs to pay special attention. The government is committed to taking firm action against every party involved, without exception, in order to protect the people from the negative impacts of online gambling.
The government’s commitment to handling online gambling cases has also been appreciated by legal experts. Cyber Law Expert from the University of Indonesia, Intan Pratama, assessed the government’s transparent steps in exposing online gambling practices, including within the government, as actions that deserve appreciation. According to her, this transparency is important so that the public understands the government’s commitment to taking firm action against violations of the law.
“The government’s steps in exposing online gambling practices within the government are worthy of appreciation. This transparency is important so that the public understands the government’s commitment to taking firm action against violations of the law,” said Intan Pratama.
Intan also suggested that the government strengthen legal sanctions to create a deterrent effect for state officials involved. This, according to her, will strengthen the government’s integrity in creating clean governance that is free from illegal activities.
The arrest of a number of employees suspected of being involved in online gambling practices is also considered as evidence of the government’s seriousness in cleaning institutions from practices that violate the law. Intan Pratama assessed this step as a positive effort that needs to be supported by all elements of society.
“The arrest of a number of employees shows the government’s seriousness in cleaning institutions from practices that are not in accordance with the rules. This is a positive step that needs to be supported by all parties,” she added.
With a cross-sectoral approach and firmness in law enforcement, the government is optimistic that this step will bring significant changes in combating online gambling and creating a safer environment for the community.
