Government Affirms Commitment to Maintaining Stability Ahead of New Year’s Eve
JAKARTA – Ahead of New Year 2025, the government has ensured that various strategic steps have been prepared to ensure security, comfort, and stability during the celebration.
President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the government is fully committed to ensuring that the public can celebrate the moment calmly.
“So that all levels of society can carry out these days with full goodness, full joy, and most importantly with a sense of security and comfort,” said President Prabowo.
The President said that the preparations had been discussed in a number of previous meetings. He also requested the latest reports from various sectors, such as security, transportation, fuel supply, food availability, and the tourism sector.
“I also want to get the latest reports from the security sector, also from the transportation sector, then reports on fuel supply, food availability, and other basic materials, as well as the labor sector and the tourism sector,” he said.
In supporting the stability of basic needs, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan ensured that the national rice stock is in a safe condition.
“Bulog’s stock is almost 2 million. So Nataru prices are safe, under control, no need to worry, stock is sufficient,” he said.
He added that the government will distribute 160 thousand tons of rice for the food aid program to 16 million beneficiaries during January and February 2025.
In addition, Bulog will also absorb the main harvest in March and April to maintain a balance of supply.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of SOEs through Deputy Minister, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, conducted direct monitoring of fuel and LPG supplies at the Pertamina Digital Hub.
He appreciated Pertamina’s readiness in facing the surge in energy needs during the end-of-year holidays.
“As the vanguard in maintaining energy security, the readiness of SOEs to meet the community’s needs for fuel and LPG is a top priority. I appreciate the Pertamina Task Force (Satgas) which is ready to face the big religious moment during Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2024/2025,” he said.
Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri added that the Pertamina Task Force team will be on standby 24 hours to ensure smooth energy distribution.
“During the 2024/2025 Nataru Task Force, Pertamina officers are also on duty in the field to directly monitor the smooth supply of energy, especially fuel and LPG,” he said.
