The government’s commitment to the development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) increasingly shows unwavering seriousness. This major project is not just an infrastructure ambition, but also a symbol of national transformation that reflects the future direction of Indonesia as a modern and inclusive country.

President Prabowo Subianto firmly stated the sustainability of this project as part of a long-term strategic vision, ensuring that the development of the IKN not only continues but also develops according to the needs of the times. In this context, the government has invited the public to support the project, while continuing to involve various parties, including domestic and foreign investors.

By integrating local and national visions, this project is not only a source of national pride but also a concrete step towards a brighter future. The government’s full support sends a strong message to the public and the international world that Indonesia is serious about bringing about meaningful change.

According to the Spokesperson for the Presidential Communications Office, Dedek Prayudi, the President’s attention to this project is very high. The approach taken is also careful and innovative, by utilizing funding sources that do not fully depend on the State Budget (APBN).

The government aims to increase the participation of investors, both domestic and foreign, in order to accelerate the realization of development without burdening the state budget too much. Although this project is not always the main topic of conversation among the public, the government’s dedication is clearly visible from the ongoing efforts that continue to be made.

One real example of this sustainability is the construction of the Nusantara Mosque in the IKN, which not only functions as a place of worship, but also becomes an important symbol of sustainable development in the region.

This project is being carried out in line with the Fast Best Results Program (PHTC), which is the government’s new priority in directing national strategic projects according to the leadership style currently being implemented.

On an international scale, Indonesia’s position regarding the relocation of the capital city has also been emphasized in various forums, including the G20. With the change in status of Jakarta to the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ), the government has demonstrated its commitment to transforming governance.

The construction of the State Mosque in the IKN is currently being accelerated while the President is planned to start working in the IKN on August 17, 2028. These steps are part of a grand plan to ensure a smooth transition of government to the new capital city.

In addition, the IKN Authority also plays an important role in accelerating the development of economic services in the area. One of its main focuses is the acceleration of the development of banking services.

In a meeting with several major banking investors such as BRI, BNI, and BCA, steps were discussed to build a service office in the Core Government Center Area (KIPP). The presence of these banking services will be an important foundation to support the economic activities of the IKN community which is targeted to start operating in 2026. With access to modern financial services, it is hoped that investor interest in this area will increase.

This concrete step also reflects the government’s vision in creating an integrated and futuristic economic ecosystem. The Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, ensured that infrastructure development continues in accordance with the President’s direction. Starting from the construction of facilities for executive, legislative, to judicial activities, all are designed to be ready to operate in 2028.

The South Kalimantan Provincial Government is committed to supporting the development of strategic infrastructure that can support this position. Head of Bappeda South Kalimantan, Ariadi Noor, said that the vision of regional development is in line with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) which is designed to support the national agenda.
