Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Reveals Prabowo’s Directions on Sea Fence Controversy

Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono revealed that President Prabowo Subianto asked for the sea fence issue to be investigated thoroughly according to the legal corridor.
“Earlier, the President’s direction. One, investigate thoroughly according to the law so that we must have the correct legal corridor. If there is none, it must belong to the state,” said Sakti at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday (20/1).

Sakti stated that Prabowo also threw out the idea of ​​a sea fence around 30 km in Tangerang being taken by the state.

He said that on Wednesday the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries will gather with various related parties starting from the Indonesian Navy, Bakamla, to the Head of the Indonesian National Police Security and Security Agency.

“At that location, with the Indonesian Navy, with the Head of the Indonesian National Police Security and Security Agency. Then with Bakamla, we are all present,” he said.

The sea fence controversy has been surfacing lately. The Indonesian Navy and fishermen dismantled a mysterious 30.16 km long sea fence in Tangerang Regency, Banten, Saturday (18/1) yesterday.

Commander of the Jakarta III Main Naval Base (Danlantamal) Brigadier General (Mar) Harry Indarto explained that the dismantling of the sea fence was a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s order.

“This morning we are working together with local residents to dismantle the sea fence that may have gone viral,” said Harry in Tanjung Pasir, Tangerang.
