Supporting ASTA CITA of Prabowo’s Government, PANDI is Committed to Eradicating Online Gambling

Jakarta – The Indonesian Internet Domain Name Manager (PANDI) has contributed to efforts to eradicate online gambling content by presenting the Indonesia Domain Abuse Data Exchange (IDADX) platform which identifies domain abuse to insert illegal content.

PANDI Chairman John Sihar Simanjuntak explained that IDADX works using the Breach Identification and Monitoring Assistant (BIMA) system, an automatic tool or bot in IDADX that quickly identifies and escalates reports of domain name abuse.

“The source of information comes from several other entities, so there are Spamhaus, OpenPish, Netcraft, Pishlabs, and others. So with this information we can see every day which domains are affected by the abuse,” said John.

After domain abuse has been identified and proven, such as the insertion of online gambling content, PANDI will provide notification to the site manager to clean up the illegal content with a deadline of one to two days.

If there is still online gambling content or other forms of domain abuse, the operation of the site will be stopped (suspended).

John revealed that IDADX report data in 2024 showed that 89,975 URLs were infiltrated with online gambling content.

In addition to online gambling content, IDADX also handles other cyber threats from domain abuse such as phishing or theft of sensitive information through fake sites or emails.

Then abuse or use of domain names for illegal activities, such as distribution of malware and spam and fraud or fake websites designed to trick users into giving money or personal data.

“So we want to ensure that the .id domain is a secure and trusted domain for the public,” said John.

Due to strict supervision by the IDADX platform, John ensures that .id domain users registered by PANDI are sites that are free from online gambling content or other illegal content.

“If (domain users) still exist, that means they are clean and we check them. If they are not maintained, we will definitely take them down,” he said.

In this way, the efforts made by several parties show their commitment to creating a safer and healthier digital environment.

These efforts are expected to not only reduce the negative impacts of online gambling, but also protect the community, especially the younger generation, from the dangers of addiction and financial loss.
