The Prabowo-Gibran government has shown its seriousness in building the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) during the first 100 days of its leadership. The strategic steps taken not only confirm the continuity of the project from the previous government, but also show a high commitment to realizing economic equality to the country’s border areas.

The sustainability of this project signifies a grand vision that is not only about building a new center of government, but also accelerating equitable economic growth throughout Indonesia.

Dedek Prayudi, Spokesperson for the Presidential Communications Office, explained that Prabowo Subianto has a vision that is in line with President Joko Widodo in ensuring that the development of the IKN continues.

A new approach is applied in the funding scheme by shifting the dominance of the state budget towards the involvement of private investment. This change signifies a more inclusive strategy and is oriented towards long-term sustainability. This step also creates an opportunity for the private sector to play an active role in the development of more efficient and competitive infrastructure.

The government’s seriousness in attracting investment has also received a positive response from domestic and international investors. Although not highlighted too much, the real steps that have been taken show high confidence in the prospects of the IKN as a new center of economic growth.

As a real manifestation of this commitment, the acceleration of the construction of the Nusantara Mosque in the IKN is an important symbol that has not been delayed, confirming that this project is continuing according to plan.

The existence of this religious facility is not just a symbol, but also proof that the government is committed to providing inclusive social infrastructure for the people who will live and work in the IKN.

In the green and digital transformation sector, the Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation of the IKN Authority, Mohammed Ali Berawi, revealed that the construction of the Smart City Cooperation Center (SCCC) will begin soon.

This facility, which is supported by a grant from South Korea, aims to strengthen the science and technology ecosystem in the IKN. In addition, the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) which is part of the United States grant will also be built soon.

The existence of these two projects signifies a step forward in realizing the concept of a future city based on digital technology and green energy. With this infrastructure, the IKN is expected to become a center of innovation that is able to compete with major cities in the world in terms of efficiency, sustainability, and digitalization of public services.

President Prabowo Subianto has also allocated a budget of IDR 48.8 trillion for the second phase of the IKN development until 2029. The Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, said that the main priority in this stage is the development of the legislative and judicial complexes, as well as the completion of supporting infrastructure.

This strategy reflects Prabowo’s vision to create a political capital that functions optimally and reflects a strong democratic system. With a complete government ecosystem, Indonesia can have a more efficient administrative center and be ready to face global challenges.

In addition, a financing scheme through Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) has been prepared with a total investment value of IDR 60.93 trillion. Various infrastructure projects, including the construction of 97 apartment towers and 129 landed houses, are entering the feasibility study stage.

The 138.6 km road and multi-utility tunnel (MUT) construction project in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) is also part of the development acceleration plan that will be funded through a similar scheme. With this approach, the government ensures that development runs according to schedule without burdening the APBN excessively.

In addition to the main infrastructure, the IKN Authority is also preparing the construction of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) as part of its commitment to green energy. Thus, the concept of IKN as a sustainable city is increasingly real, supported by investments that have entered the groundbreaking stage in the residential, retail, hotel, and office sectors worth IDR 6.49 trillion.

This step ensures that the private sector plays an active role in accelerating development. Along with that, the sustainability of the project is balanced with the implementation of an environmentally friendly concept, so that IKN can be an example for sustainable urban development in Indonesia.

The Prabowo-Gibran government has proven that the IKN project is not just a political promise, but a strategic program that continues to receive full attention. The commitment to sustainable development is strengthened by innovative financing strategies, acceleration of infrastructure projects, and optimization of cooperation with the private sector.
