Clean Culture in BUMN Part of Government’s Anti-Corruption Commitment

Indonesia has many State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) that play a vital role in the country’s economy. BUMN not only serves as an economic driver, but also as a means to provide quality public services. Therefore, it is important for BUMN to create a transparent, professional, and accountable system in carrying out its operations.

One very vital aspect is the formation of a clean culture in the BUMN environment, which not only aims to improve company performance, but also as part of the government’s commitment to fighting corruption.

A clean culture in BUMN refers to the norms, habits, and values that are firmly held by all elements involved in the management of BUMN. These values include integrity, transparency, accountability, and professionalism.

PT. Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo) supports the realization of a BUMN culture that is free from corruption, by implementing the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) standard since 2021 until now

Askrindo President Director, M. Fankar Umran said that his party is carrying out a transformation by adopting a better supervision system, as well as implementing the commitment of all employees through an integrity pact so that work tasks can be carried out with full integrity, professionalism and in accordance with applicable regulations.

The Indonesian government through the Ministry of BUMN continues to oversee efforts to strengthen a clean culture throughout BUMN.

One of the important steps taken is the establishment of a Gratification Control Unit in each BUMN which is tasked with preventing and taking action against gratification practices that can harm the company.

Peruri as part of BUMN is committed to eradicating corruption in order to realize good corporate governance. This commitment is in line with the core values of BUMN, namely Amanah, Kompeten, Harmonis, Loyal, Adaptif dan Kolaboratif (AKHLAK)

Head of Corporate Secretary Peruri, Adi Sunardi said as part of the BUMN ministry, Peruri is determined to follow the Regulation of the Minister of BUMN Number PER-1/MBU/2011 concerning Good Corporate Governance in BUMN. Peruri applies the principle of zero tolerance towards all forms of corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN) and strengthens the internal control system to ensure transparent and accountable business practices.

With an integrated and transparent system, processes that are prone to abuse of authority can be minimized. The government also continues to monitor and evaluate the implementation of a clean culture in BUMN to ensure that the policies that have been implemented are running effectively.

The commitment of the Indonesian government to eradicating corruption is very large. As part of this commitment, BUMN is expected to become an institution that is clean and free from corruption. This is not only to maintain the integrity of the company, but also to build public trust in the government. The Indonesian government not only leaves the formation of a clean culture in BUMN to each company, but also actively provides encouragement and supervision.

PT DAHANA as a company engaged in the strategic industrial sector, also continues to strengthen its commitment to supervising and eradicating corruption. Various strategic steps have been taken by DAHANA to ensure the implementation of good corporate governance (GCG) and to create a business environment free from corruption.

As a real manifestation of this commitment, DAHANA has collaborated with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the socialization of the prevention of gratification and corruption. Through this socialization, DAHANA provides education to all employees regarding the importance of rejecting gratification that can affect objectivity in decision making.

DAHANA’s Director of Finance, Risk Management and HR, Mohamad Nur Sodiq said that the strengthening of supervision and eradication of corruption carried out by DAHANA is a form of support for President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita in the Ministry of BUMN, one of which is strengthening the prevention and eradication of corruption.

Clean culture in BUMN is an important part of the Indonesian government’s commitment to eradicating corruption and creating a transparent and accountable government. Realizing a clean culture in BUMN is not easy, but with systematic and consistent efforts from the government, strict supervision, and high awareness from all elements of BUMN, it is hoped that this goal can be achieved.
