The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) launched by the government is one of the strategic initiatives in empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well as improving community welfare. By partnering with MSMEs as the main partner, this program not only ensures that the community gets access to nutritious food, but also creates a significant positive impact on the local economy.

In its launch, the government involved various elements of society and institutions, including local MSMEs which are the backbone of providing raw materials to food distribution. The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, stated that this program was designed to answer the nutritional needs of the community while encouraging economic growth through MSME empowerment. With simultaneous implementation in 26 provinces and involving hundreds of distribution points, the MBG program is one of the government’s concrete steps in building a strong and sustainable MSME ecosystem.

The MBG program provides a great opportunity for MSME players to expand market reach and increase production capacity. The Head of the Muhammadiyah DKI Jakarta MSME Development Institute, Nosri Sahibi, said that the involvement of MSMEs in this program was able to create a dynamic economic movement. From the provision of raw materials to the presentation of cooked food, MSMEs gain direct access to a wider market, which ultimately strengthens their competitiveness. Nosri also emphasized that this program is not only about providing nutritious food, but also creates an extraordinary domino effect on the local economy.

In Lampung Province, the MBG program has received full support from the local government. The Head of the Lampung Province Cooperatives and MSMEs Service, Samsurizal, emphasized that this program is a new hope for MSMEs in the region. By utilizing local potential such as agricultural, livestock, and fishery commodities, MSMEs in Lampung are able to produce high-quality products that meet the needs of the MBG program. This collaboration creates synergy between business actors, the government, and the community to strengthen local-based food security.

The success of the MBG program cannot be separated from the support of various parties, including the security forces and the local government. The involvement of the TNI-Polri in ensuring the smooth distribution of food is real evidence of solid cross-sector collaboration. In the implementation in the field, security forces play an important role in maintaining smooth logistics, so that the program can reach communities in various regions, including remote areas.

One important aspect of this program is sustainability. The government has taken strategic steps to ensure that the supply of raw materials remains stable and efficient. By involving MSMEs as the main raw material providers, this program creates an ecosystem that supports local production and community needs. In addition, periodic evaluation of program implementation is an important part of ensuring that this initiative continues to provide maximum benefits for all parties involved.

The MBG program is also a solution for people who have difficulty accessing nutritious food. With even distribution throughout the region, this program helps reduce the inequality of food access in Indonesia. In addition, active community participation in this program creates a strong sense of ownership, thus supporting the sustainability of the program in the long term.

The positive impact of this program is not only felt by the beneficiary community, but also by the MSME actors involved. For example, MSMEs that previously only served the local market now have the opportunity to expand their networks and increase production capacity. This is in line with the government’s vision to make MSMEs the main pillar of the national economy.

In addition, this program also provides education to the community about the importance of consuming nutritious food. With a specially designed menu, the community is invited to understand that a healthy diet can increase productivity and quality of life. This effort is a strategic step in creating a healthier and more competitive generation in the future.

For local governments, this program is a momentum to empower local potential that has so far been underdeveloped. By involving MSME actors in villages, local governments are able to increase the economic capacity of the region while addressing social problems such as unemployment. The MBG program also has a long-term impact by creating new business opportunities for people who want to participate in the program’s ecosystem.
