Legislature Supports Government Efforts in Handling Corruption Cases

Jakarta – The government’s efforts to eradicate corruption have received full support from various parties, including the legislative body. This can be seen from the audience between the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs (Kemenkopolkam) which aims to strengthen cooperation in handling corruption cases and support policies to improve public welfare.

KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto explained that this audience was a follow-up to the Asta Cita policy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. According to him, good coordination between the KPK and Kemenkopolkam is a strategic step in creating synergy to eradicate corruption optimally.

“This activity is a follow-up to government policies, especially the Asta Cita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. We hope that the coordination and cooperation that is established will create good synergy between Kemenkopolkam and KPK,” said Setyo.

He also expressed his belief that eradicating corruption through preventive measures and prosecution can be achieved with strong support from all related parties.

In line with this, the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menkopolkam) Budi Gunawan also expressed his appreciation for the KPK which continues to show a high commitment to eradicating corruption. According to him, the role of the KPK in strengthening the prevention desk and improving governance is very strategic in creating a clean government.

“In the future, the KPK will also be involved in handling human trafficking crimes and handling forest fires. With this desk, the KPK will be more integrated in efforts to overcome strategic problems in Indonesia,” said Budi Gunawan.

He emphasized that the synergy between the Kemenkopolkam and the KPK is the key to creating effective, transparent, and corruption-free governance.

Support for the eradication of corruption also came from the regional legislature. Secretary of the Council (Sekwan) of the East Java DPRD, Ali Kuncoro, emphasized that the East Java DPRD is committed to maintaining the integrity of the legislative institution. He stated that efforts to eradicate corruption must start with compliance with applicable regulations.

“The key is to follow all applicable regulations,” explained Ali.

He also revealed that the spirit built by the new East Java DPRD period is to prevent deviations in the implementation of government programs. This, according to him, is an important step to restore public trust in legislative institutions.
