Government Realizes Economic Equality as Key to National Stability
JAKARTA – The Indonesian government continues to be committed to creating economic equality as the key to national stability. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, emphasized the importance of more coordinated and integrated infrastructure development planning.
According to AHY, infrastructure development is a top priority to support economic growth, equitable development, and national resilience.
“There are still many aspects of economic and human development that require basic infrastructure and connectivity. In the first three months, we are focused on evaluating which infrastructure is running well and which needs to be reviewed,” he said.
This statement underlines the government’s commitment to building a solid infrastructure foundation during the first 100 days of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
AHY explained that the government has mapped out a number of strategic infrastructure projects that can directly impact people’s welfare.
These projects include improving transportation networks, building dams, and developing renewable energy. These steps are expected to reduce logistics costs, increase accessibility, and accelerate development in remote areas.
In addition, AHY also emphasized the importance of strengthening defense infrastructure. The construction of strategic facilities, such as military bases, ports, and national logistics systems, is prioritized to improve the readiness of the TNI in facing various threats.
“We need to unite with the spirit to advance Indonesia’s defense and security. The Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development is ready to support this cooperation,” said AHY.
Meanwhile, in the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector, Deputy Minister of MSMEs Helvi Moraza assessed that MSMEs play an important role in accelerating economic equality.
During his visit to PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) Medan Branch, Helvi revealed the importance of the role of PNM customers in empowering the national economy to support President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic program.
“In it, entrepreneurship development is strengthened through training and providing access to capital for micro, small, and medium enterprises,” said Helvi.
He also invited PNM to propose superior MSMEs that can be involved in various strategic government programs, in order to accelerate economic equality and support the transformation towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
PNM President Director, Arief Mulyadi, added that his party will continue to support the government’s mission in empowering ultra micro, micro, and small entrepreneurs.
“We believe that strengthening the people’s economy is the key to achieving equitable prosperity,” said Arief.
