Indonesian Government Encourages MSME Involvement in Implementing MBG Program

Jakarta – The government continues to demonstrate its commitment to encouraging the empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG). This program not only focuses on increasing public access to nutritious food, but also strengthening the role of MSMEs as the driving force of the local economy.

The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, stated that the MBG program was designed as a dual solution, namely answering the nutritional needs of the community while creating a positive impact on the economic sector, especially MSMEs. The launch of this program involves MSMEs in various stages, from providing raw materials to distributing food.

“This program is implemented simultaneously in 26 provinces involving hundreds of distribution points. This is a concrete step to strengthen the MSME ecosystem and ensure sustainable economic growth,” said Meutya.

The Head of the Muhammadiyah DKI Jakarta MSME Development Institute, Nosri Sahibi, emphasized that this program creates a domino effect on the local economy. The involvement of MSMEs in the MBG program opens up great opportunities for small business actors to expand their markets and increase production capacity.

“MSMEs not only provide raw materials, but also ready-to-eat food that reaches various regions. This provides wider market access and strengthens their competitiveness,” explained Nosri.

Head of the Lampung Province Cooperatives and MSMEs Office, Samsurizal, emphasized that Lampung Province is one of the regions that feels the direct benefits of this program. The involvement of local MSMEs that utilize the potential of agricultural, livestock, and fishery resources is the key to the success of the MBG program.

“Lampung is one of the regions that feels the direct benefits of the MBG program. In addition, the involvement of local MSMEs that utilize the potential of agricultural, livestock, and fishery resources is the key to the success of the MBG program,” he said.

The MBG program reflects the government’s vision to build an inclusive and sustainable economy. By involving MSMEs as strategic partners, this program not only provides direct benefits to the community, but also becomes a foundation for strengthening the local and national economy.

In the future, the MBG program is expected to reach more regions and create broader benefits. The government is committed to continuing to innovate, so that this program becomes a successful MSME empowerment model and contributes to improving the welfare of the Indonesian people. {}
