President Prabowo Orders Task Force to Organize Palm Oil Land

President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting with several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet regarding land management, especially palm oil. The limited meeting was held at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, Friday (1/31/2025).

In an official statement from the Palace Press Bureau, the limited meeting decided several policies to ensure land management is in accordance with applicable regulations.

Among them, the Land Use and Investment Management Task Force is preparing regulatory steps.

The Task Force will act in accordance with established regulations, ensuring compliance with regulations governing land use. In addition, the government will also adjust policies for land that has been used for palm oil plantations.

Adjustment of regulations by adhering to applicable regulations in order to create a balance between environmental, economic, and public welfare interests.

In his direction, President Prabowo reminded the importance of the state’s presence in managing natural resources.

Management of natural resources must be oriented towards national interests and managed for the greatest possible prosperity of the people. The presence of the state in enforcing the rules is a mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.

Furthermore, the government is committed to maintaining a balance between investment and environmental sustainability in land management. The President hopes that the government’s efforts and commitments can provide legal certainty.

Legal certainty for stakeholders and encourage more orderly plantation governance that is oriented towards national interests. Therefore, this land management process will be carried out with a measured and systematic approach.
