Community Leaders Appreciate Government’s 100 Days of Eradicating Drugs
JAKARTA — The Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration has received widespread appreciation in its first 100 days of leadership, especially in its efforts to eradicate drug trafficking.
The firm steps taken by the security forces are considered successful in suppressing the spread of drugs which have been the root of various crimes.
A community leader from North Sumatra, Rajamin Sirait, expressed his support for the firm actions taken by the North Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General. Pol. Whisnu Hermawan Februanto, in combating drugs and crime in the region.
According to him, drugs are the main factor that triggers various forms of crime.
“The existence of drugs is the fuel that drives the crime machine,” said Rajamin.
He assessed that as long as drug trafficking still exists, criminal acts such as theft, extortion, and violence will continue to occur.
Although the challenges in eradicating drugs are so great, Rajamin still appreciates the performance of the police who continue to fight against drug networks.
“Many people only see the impact of police action, but do not see that this is a never-ending battle. As long as there is a market for drugs, crime will continue to exist,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Millennial Guard, Cici Nurain Pandey, assessed that the Prabowo-Gibran government’s policy showed a strong commitment to protecting the younger generation from the threat of drugs.
“This policy shows that the government has a strong commitment to protecting the younger generation from the bad influence of drugs,” he said.
“For that, I fully appreciate the programs that have been taken at this time,” said Cici.
He also appreciated the education and supervision that have been strengthened, as well as the government’s success in reducing the number of drug abuse in a number of regions.
“The government’s policy is a driver of collective awareness among young people to stay away from drugs,” he continued.
A firm commitment was also conveyed by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Commissioner General Wahyu Widada, who emphasized that eradicating drugs has become one of the main priorities in the Prabowo administration.
“Eradicating drugs, from prevention to law enforcement, is our duty,” he said.
“The government has a strong commitment, especially through President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita, to eradicate drugs,” said Wahyu
With firm steps from the government and security forces, as well as full support from the community, efforts to eradicate drugs are expected to create a safer and crime-free environment in the future. (*)
