Free Nutritious Meals a Success, Prabowo-Gibran Government Gains Great Support
Jakarta – The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program initiated by the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka continues to garner widespread support from various parties.
The government’s commitment to ensuring balanced nutrition for Indonesian children is considered a strategic step in creating a superior generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, emphasized that the government continues to strive to perfect this program so that it can be accessed by all Indonesian children. He highlighted the importance of accelerating the distribution and quality of the implementation of MBG.
“This MBG program is not just a government policy, but a shared challenge. All parties need to play an active role so that this program can run effectively, quickly, and on target,” said Dadan in his statement on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
President Prabowo Subianto himself has directly reviewed the implementation of MBG in a number of schools in Jakarta. He emphasized that the government will continue to strive to improve this program in order to reach more children in remote and underprivileged areas.
“The government is committed to improving the Free Nutritious Meals program so that it can reach all children in Indonesia. This program is a long-term investment for the future of the nation,” Prabowo emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs (Wamensos), Agus Jabo Priyono, stated that MBG has a significant impact on poverty alleviation and improving the regional economy. The flow of funds reaching IDR 6-7 billion to villages is estimated to be able to increase local economic dynamics.
“This program not only prepares the Golden Generation of 2045, but also moves the wheels of the economy to remote villages, which will ultimately have a direct impact on reducing poverty rates,” said Agus.
Support for this program also came from the local government. The Regent of Central Tapanuli, Masinton Pasaribu, appreciated the Ministry of Social Affairs which is working more effectively thanks to more accurate social data. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the central and regional governments in improving community welfare.
On the other hand, member of Commission II of the Medan DPRD, Tia Ayu Anggraini, said that MBG is one of President Prabowo’s priority programs to ensure that children get balanced nutrition and prevent stunting.
She invited the entire community to actively support this program in order to realize a healthier and more advanced Indonesia.
With the success that has been achieved and broad support from various elements of society, the MBG program has become one of the important milestones in the Prabowo-Gibran administration.
The sustainability and optimization of this program are expected to bring positive, sustainable impacts to the Indonesian nation.
