Budget Efficiency Drives Economic Growth to Realize the Asta Cita Program
JAKARTA – The government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto continues to prioritize budget efficiency as a strategic step in optimizing state financial management. This policy not only aims to reduce the fiscal burden, but also ensures that national priority programs continue to run and have a positive impact on economic growth.
Economist and Public Policy Expert from the National Development University (UPN) Jakarta, Achmad Nur Hidayat, emphasized that President Prabowo’s steps in instructing budget efficiency are the beginning of more optimal state financial management. “Budget efficiency instructed by President Prabowo Subianto is the first step in more optimal state financial management. This will also have an impact on optimizing the use of available funds,” he said.
Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas), Rachmat Pambudy, ensured that budget efficiency will not hinder national economic growth. “Economic growth remains high, even though there is a diversion or budget efficiency,” he said.
The government emphasized that the efficiency carried out will be focused on financing national priority activities. Deputy for Development Financing and Investment, Putut Satyaka, stated that the budget allocation will be prepared by considering the effectiveness and maximum impact on national development.
One of the sectors of concern is infrastructure development. Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, emphasized that the budget efficiency policy will not affect his ministry’s performance in realizing various strategic infrastructure projects. “Budget efficiency does not affect the performance of the PU Ministry in infrastructure development, because the 2025 program has been well regulated,” he explained.
Dody also ensured that all ongoing infrastructure projects would be completed without any stalling. “Budget optimization is carried out effectively and transparently so that the benefits of development can be felt optimally by the community. Infrastructure that has been built will be optimized, such as dams linked to irrigation networks to increase the planting index,” he added.
Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, emphasized that President Prabowo saw the potential for efficiency in state spending and asked to review the budget allocation that could be adjusted without reducing the quality of public services. “Budget efficiency should not reduce the quality of performance, but rather must reorganize the work process to be more effective by utilizing technology,” he explained.
Furthermore, Suahasil added that the Ministry of Finance will review the work program to remain in line with national priorities and ensure that the budget is used for primary interests. “Efficiency is not just about budget cuts, but how to work smarter, more strategically, and more responsibly so that the Ministry of Finance continues to be respected,” he said.
With a strategically implemented budget efficiency policy, President Prabowo Subianto’s government ensures that the Asta Cita Program continues to run and has a positive impact on society. This step is proof that efficiency not only reduces the burden on the state, but also becomes a driving force for more sustainable economic growth.
