Budget Efficiency Strengthens Asta Cita: Prabowo’s Commitment to Sustainable Development

Jakarta – The government ensures that President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programs in Asta Cita will continue despite budget efficiency. President Prabowo took a strategic step by cutting the budget by IDR 306.69 trillion in 2025 through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025. This policy aims to increase the efficiency of state spending and divert funds to productive sectors that are more beneficial to the community.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati emphasized that the budget cuts are focused on reducing ceremonial spending, official travel, maintenance, and activities that do not have a significant impact on the economy.

“The funds from this efficiency will be allocated for productive spending that supports economic growth, industrialization, and infrastructure development,” she said.

According to Sri Mulyani, the use of the State Budget (APBN) must be oriented towards direct benefits for the community and strengthening the national economy.

“Savings are made so that state spending is more effective and on target,” she added.

Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini added that the budget cuts aim to ensure more optimal use of the state budget.

“The government is optimizing information technology in the work system to reduce operational costs. Bureaucratic reform continues with efficiency in the use of office facilities and infrastructure and increased cooperation between work units,” she said.

Despite the efficiency, priority programs such as Free Nutritious Meals, food self-sufficiency, and the health sector still receive adequate budget allocations. The government ensures that budget reallocations continue to support job creation, economic growth, and industrial downstreaming which are the main pillars of national development.

Economist and public policy expert from UPN Jakarta, Achmad Nur Hidayat, assessed that the budget efficiency policy instructed by President Prabowo was the first step in more optimal state financial management.

“Budget efficiency not only reduces the burden on the state, but also encourages economic growth by ensuring that every rupiah spent has maximum impact,” he said.

The government invites the entire community to continue to support this efficiency policy for the sake of sustainable national development. There is no need to worry, because this step is designed to ensure that people’s welfare remains a top priority. With more effective budget management, various strategic programs will run more optimally and bring great benefits to the progress of the nation.

With this policy, President Prabowo’s government ensures that budget efficiency does not hinder the achievement of Asta Cita, but rather strengthens the foundation of national development with more productive and targeted budget use.
