The government together with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to ensure that the stock and distribution of 3kg LPG runs smoothly throughout the region. Strategic steps have been taken to ensure that the availability of 3kg LPG remains safe and can be accessed by the public.
Coordinating Minister for Food, Zulkifli Hasan, emphasized that the distribution of 3kg LPG is running smoothly after the government took a policy to optimize the distribution system. This provides a sense of comfort for people who depend on subsidized LPG for their daily needs. He also reminded retailers who have transformed into sub-bases not to manipulate the price and stock of the gas, considering that 3kg LPG is a basic need for many people.
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Heppy Wulansari, also confirmed that the supply of 3kg LPG in various regions remains maintained. Pertamina continues to monitor the field to ensure that subsidized LPG reaches the sub-bases and can be purchased by the public according to their needs. This effort is in line with government policy to ensure more transparent and targeted distribution.
In Central Java and DI Yogyakarta, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has even increased the supply of 3 kg LPG to more than 900,000 cylinders to anticipate the increasing needs of the community. According to the Area Manager of Communication, Relations, & Corporate Social Responsibility for Central Java Pertamina Patra Niaga, Taufiq Kurniawan, this addition has been distributed in stages since early February. With this addition, the stock of 3 kg LPG in this area is guaranteed to be safe.
In Central Java, the Solo Raya area received the largest allocation with an additional supply of 270,000 cylinders. Meanwhile, Semarang Raya received an allocation of 160,720 cylinders, and the DI Yogyakarta area received an allocation of 95,400 cylinders, with Sleman Regency being the largest recipient. The existence of four LPG terminals in this area is the main factor supporting the smooth supply.
The Regional Secretary of the Yogyakarta Special Region Government, Beny Suharsono, also ensured that the distribution of 3 kg LPG was running optimally in his area. He explained that the new distribution scheme that requires purchases to be made through official depots is a step that further strengthens transparency in the distribution of subsidized gas. Based on the supervision carried out, the stock of 3 kg LPG remains available and sufficient to meet the needs of residents. However, he emphasized that further supervision will continue to be carried out to ensure that the selling price remains in accordance with the highest retail price (HET) set by the government.
In West Sumatra, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra also ensures that the distribution of 3 kg LPG remains guaranteed. With the number of official depots reaching 5,634, the public can obtain 3 kg LPG at the price according to the provisions. Area Manager Communication, Relations, & Corporate Social Responsibility Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, Susanto August Satria, stated that official depots are the best place for the public to buy subsidized LPG, because the quality and measurements are guaranteed. If irregularities are found, the public can report them through the Pertamina call center.
The existence of eight Bulk LPG Filling and Transportation Stations (SPPBE) in West Sumatra also ensures smooth distribution. Padang City is the area with the largest number of depots, reaching 1,092 units. With the support of this infrastructure, the distribution of 3 kg LPG throughout January 2025 has reached more than four million cylinders.
The government and Pertamina also continue to remind people who are relatively well-off to switch to using Bright Gas products, which are available in 5.5 kg and 12 kg sizes. This aims to ensure that 3 kg LPG that receives government subsidies can be more targeted for people who really need it.
Overall, the efforts of the government and Pertamina in ensuring the availability of 3 kg LPG have shown very positive results. The addition of supply, supervision of distribution, and the transfer of retailers to sub-depots have had a real impact on maintaining the stability of subsidized LPG supplies in various regions. With the right strategy, 3 kg LPG can still be accessed by entitled people at the right price, supporting national welfare and energy needs.
