President Prabowo Dismantles Sea Fence as Effort to Protect Maritime Ecosystem
Tangerang – The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) has successfully dismantled a sea fence that stretches 22.5 kilometers in Tangerang, Banten, as part of an effort to protect the maritime ecosystem and ensure the sustainability of shipping activities and the welfare of coastal communities.
The dismantling operation involved 219 personnel from Marine Corps (Pasmar) 1, Lantamal III, and Koarmada I.
Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Harry Indarto went directly to the Tanjung Pasir area, Tangerang, to dismantle the sea fence. The process of dismantling the sea fence was not without difficulties.
With a length of 30 kilometers, the fence obstructs the activities of fishermen who depend on the sea for their daily livelihoods
“We ensure that the dismantling operation runs smoothly by involving TNI AL personnel and local fishermen.” Harry said
Head of the Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral I Made Wira Hady Arsanta explained that this operation succeeded in dismantling the sea fence with details of 18.2 kilometers in Tanjung Pasir and 4.3 kilometers in Kronjo, Tangerang.
“The Indonesian Navy is committed to continuing to make maximum efforts to complete the dismantling of this sea fence according to the direct order of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto to ensure the security and welfare of coastal communities,” he said.
The dismantling of this sea fence is also part of law enforcement at sea, which aims to maintain the aquatic ecosystem so that it remains conducive to shipping activities and the lives of fishermen.
“This is certainly in line with the emphasis of the Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali that the Indonesian Navy is always ready to overcome the difficulties of the people around it,” continued Wira
With the dismantling of this 22.5-kilometer sea fence, it is hoped that shipping activities and the lives of coastal communities in Tangerang can run more smoothly and sustainably.
The Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali emphasized the Indonesian Navy’s commitment to continue supporting the community in overcoming various difficulties, including in maintaining the security and sustainability of the marine ecosystem.
“The Indonesian Navy will always be ready to help the people and enforce the rules for the common interest,” said Muhammad Ali
