Prabowo-Gibran’s Free Medical Check-up Program is a Form of Concern for the People

Jakarta – The government has launched the Free Health Check-up Program (PKG) which began on February 10, 2025 as a concrete manifestation of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s concern for public health. This program aims to improve the quality of national health through early detection of various diseases.

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Budi Gunadi Sadikin, invited the public to take maximum advantage of this program. He emphasized that PKG is the largest health initiative in Indonesian history with a target of reaching all levels of society.

“This is the largest program in history, the target is 280 million people to feel the benefits. This program reaches the largest number of people in the history of this republic,” said Budi Gunadi Sadikin.

This program is designed to detect various diseases early, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. With early detection, the public can get faster treatment and prevent serious complications that can be life-threatening.

Support for PKG also came from various parties, including the Indonesian Public Health Experts Association (IAKMI). The General Chairperson of the Central Board (PP) of IAKMI, Dedi Supratman, expressed his appreciation for this program because it can improve national health services.

“President Prabowo has a very good vision in the health sector, one of which is free health checks. This is important to ensure that people stay healthy and can detect early symptoms of disease before they get worse,” he said.

Dedi also highlighted the importance of health promotion so that people understand the steps to prevent disease. He gave an example of how routine health checks can help detect high blood pressure early, so that it can be prevented before it develops into a stroke or heart disease.

In addition, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) also supports the implementation of PKG. The General Chairperson of Kadin, Anindya Bakrie, stated Kadin’s readiness to help make the program a success. According to him, this program will provide new enthusiasm for the community to maintain their health.

“Because who doesn’t want to live longer. But not only living longer, but living healthier and being able to be productive,” said Anindya.

The PKG program is the first step in the national health reform initiated by the Prabowo-Gibran government. By involving various parties, including the health sector and the business world, it is hoped that this program can run effectively and reach all Indonesian people.

The public is encouraged to take part in this free health check-up at health facilities that have been designated by the government. The government also ensures that this service will be provided evenly throughout Indonesia, including remote areas, so that no citizen is left out of the benefits of this program.

With the PKG, it is hoped that public awareness of the importance of health check-ups will increase, so that the incidence of chronic diseases can be suppressed and the quality of life of the community will improve. This program is real proof that public health is a top priority for the Prabowo-Gibran government in building a healthier and more prosperous Indonesia. [-red]
