In the midst of increasingly difficult economic challenges, access to nutritious food is one of the main issues for the community. Adequate nutritional needs greatly affect the health and productivity of each individual. However, not all levels of society are able to access nutritious food due to various obstacles, such as prices that continue to soar and economic difficulties.
A number of regions in Indonesia have begun implementing free nutritious meal programs as a real step to help the community, especially those in the lower middle economic class. This program is designed to provide easier access to healthy and nutritious food, with the aim of improving the quality of life and reducing malnutrition rates which are still quite high in several regions.
Member of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Muazzim Akbar said that the free nutritious meal program is part of the government’s efforts to improve the quality of community nutrition that needs more attention. Especially in the context of the long-term goals to be achieved, namely creating a healthy, superior, and productive generation. Basically, good nutritional quality is one of the main pillars for forming a society that is not only physically healthy, but also has high competitiveness.
This free nutritious meal program, initiated by President Prabowo, is a concrete step to overcome one of the major problems in Indonesia, namely malnutrition and malnutrition. This problem not only impacts health, but also has broad implications for the quality of education, productivity, and ultimately the nation’s competitiveness. Children who grow up in malnourished conditions, for example, have less potential to develop optimally, both physically and cognitively. Therefore, ensuring that every level of society, especially the less fortunate, has access to nutritious food is very important.
The provision of free nutritious meals is not only about providing social assistance, but also focuses on the quality of the food provided. The food is prepared by paying attention to the right nutritional composition, so that it can meet the body’s needs for growth and development, as well as maintaining endurance. Through this program, it is hoped that the community, especially children and the elderly, will gain significant benefits in maintaining their health.
The steps of the Makassar Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Arya Perdana, in leading the distribution of 592 nutritious lunch packages in two elementary schools in Makassar is a real example of how the police institution is not only tasked with maintaining security, but also participating in creating public welfare. Moreover, the distribution of nutritious food to school children is part of a central government program that has a positive impact on the health and future of the nation’s next generation.
Senior Commissioner Arya Perdana said that this activity is a form of support for the welfare program initiated by the President and Vice President. In the context of developing a nation, the welfare of children is something that cannot be ignored. Children are the greatest asset for the future of the country, and fulfilling good nutritional needs from an early age will affect the quality of human resources that will grow and develop in the future. By providing nutritious food directly to children, it not only helps them to stay healthy and strong, but also opens up greater access to learning opportunities and develop optimally.
The nutritious food provided usually contains various types of important nutrients, such as protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, and vitamins and minerals. This is very important considering the many health problems that arise due to an unbalanced diet, such as stunting in children, obesity, and non-communicable diseases. By providing free healthy food, this program helps reduce the number of diseases related to poor and unbalanced nutrition.
West Aceh Police Chief, AKBP Andi Kirana said that the police’s commitment to supporting the education and welfare of children in their area deserves appreciation. In their role which is better known as security guards, the police should also contribute to the social welfare of the community, especially the next generation of the nation, namely children. The commitment of the West Aceh Police is in line with the government’s goals which not only focus on infrastructure development, but also pay attention to aspects of community welfare, especially in terms of health and education.
