Government Ensures Free Nutritious Meal Program Runs Effectively and Evenly

Jakarta – The Indonesian government continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving public welfare through the Free Nutritious Meal program which is now running nationally. This program is designed to provide access to healthy and nutritious food for groups in need, especially school children.

As a manifestation of the government’s seriousness in ensuring that the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto runs optimally and has a real impact on the community, Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming consistently monitors its implementation directly in various regions.

“One of President Prabowo’s priority programs aims to improve the nutritional quality of students in order to support the creation of a healthy, intelligent, and highly competitive young generation of Indonesia,” said the Vice President.

Regarding the menu served, the Vice President said that it was quite good and had been directly monitored by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). However, he invited the media or the public to convey if there was an evaluation related to the food menu in the MBG program.

“I think it’s okay today, if later maybe after I go home if there are evaluations, please, we can convey them. Earlier there was a BGN team on standby here too,” he said.

On the same occasion, the Principal of SMPN 11 Depok, Purnomo Dono Ismawan said that the MBG program had been implemented at his school running smoothly.

“Alhamdulillah, a blessing for everyone. Now we don’t buy rice. This program, thank God, makes children healthy, proven by the fact that my UKS now has no one sick,” he said.

One of the main focuses of this program is to ensure that every food provided has sufficient nutritional value according to the standards of the Ministry of Health. Therefore, the government is working with nutritionists and academics to design a healthy, balanced menu that meets the daily nutritional needs of beneficiaries.

On another occasion, the TNI Commander, General Agus Subiyanto, visited an elementary school in Cimahi City to evaluate the implementation of MBG. “The TNI is committed to supporting the Free Nutritious Meal program through various forms of assistance, so that this program can be implemented in accordance with government direction,” said the TNI Commander.

In the future, the government plans to expand the scope of this program by increasing the number of beneficiaries and improving the quality of the food provided. In addition, further research will be conducted to evaluate the long-term impact of this program on public health, especially for children in their growing years.

The government also hopes that this initiative can be an inspiration for other countries in overcoming nutrition and food security problems. With the various strategic steps that have been taken, it is hoped that Indonesia can be an example in building an inclusive and sustainable food system.
