Supporting President Prabowo’s Goals, Security Forces Hold Socialization on the Dangers of Online Gambling

Palangkaraya – In order to support President Prabowo Subianto’s Goals in creating a healthy and prosperous society, the Bhayangkara Hospital Level III Palangka Raya together with the Public Relations Division (Bidhumas) of the Central Kalimantan Police (Kalteng) held a socialization with the theme “Being Wise in Using Social Media and the Dangers of Online Gambling.”

This activity aims to increase awareness, both among police personnel and the public, regarding the negative impacts of online gambling which is increasingly rampant in the digital world.

Deputy Head of the Bhayangkara Hospital Level III Palangka Raya, Police Commissioner dr. Budi Satria, Sp. DVE., who was present representing the Head of the Bhayangkara Hospital AKBP dr. Anton Sudarto, emphasized the importance of being careful in using social media.

“Social media is a platform that has a very large influence, both positive and negative. Therefore, we must be wise in using it, to avoid bad practices such as online gambling that can ruin the lives of many people,” said Dr. Budi Satria.

Police Commissioner Dr. Budi Satria also added that many people, especially the younger generation, still do not fully understand the dangers of online gambling. This can be caused by promotions or advertisements that often appear on social media that seem harmless.

“We want to provide a broader understanding of how online gambling practices can damage a person’s mental and economic well-being, and how to protect yourself from getting caught up in it,” he added.

This socialization also presented important speakers, namely the Head of the Virtual Police Team for the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Public Relations Division, Ipda H. Samsudin, S.HI., M.H. He said that the fight against online gambling requires an active role from all elements of society.

“Online gambling is no longer something that can be considered trivial. The impact is very broad, especially for families and society. We invite the public to work together to eradicate this practice, including by reporting any unreasonable advertisements or promotions on social media,” said Ipda Samsudin.

The socialization held is an important means to disseminate wider information about the dangers of online gambling and the importance of being wise in using social media.

Education about the dangers of online gambling and the wise use of social media is very relevant to the government’s efforts to create a more digitally intelligent society and avoid the negative influences of cyberspace. Through this activity, security forces hope to create collective awareness in avoiding online gambling practices that harm many parties.
