President Prabowo’s Visit Ensures Smooth Implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program
Jakarta – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, reviewed the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program at SDN Kedung Jaya 1, Bogor City, West Java. This visit aims to ensure that the government’s flagship program runs smoothly and provides real benefits for Indonesian children.
President Prabowo’s arrival was greeted enthusiastically by hundreds of students who waved and greeted him with joy. The President also took the time to return the greetings and interact directly with the students before reviewing the location where the nutritious food was provided.
During his visit, the President saw firsthand the food prepared for the students and ensured that the distribution process was running well. He also visited several classrooms to witness firsthand how the children received and enjoyed the nutritious food provided by the government.
President Prabowo emphasized that the MBG program is one of the government’s strategic steps in improving the quality of health and education for children in Indonesia.
“We want to ensure that every child gets sufficient nutritional intake so that they can grow up healthy and intelligent,” he said.
In addition to reviewing the MBG program, the President also monitored the teaching and learning process at SDN Kedung Jaya 1. He talked with students, provided motivation, and emphasized the importance of studying seriously for a better future.
The government has allocated a budget of IDR 71 trillion for the initial stage of the MBG program, which is targeted to provide nutritious food to 17.5 million children every day. The President also revealed that the government is reviewing additional budget to accelerate the expansion of this program so that it can reach 82.9 million children by the end of 2025.
On a separate occasion, the Chairperson of the Central Leadership (PP) of Muslimat NU, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, expressed her support for the MBG program. She emphasized that this program is in line with the vision to produce a young generation that is strong in intelligence, nutrition, and character.
President Prabowo emphasized his commitment to maintaining and expanding this program. He is even ready to allocate a larger budget by cutting other less urgent expenses, such as overseas business trips and academic discussions that do not have a direct impact on the people.
“What is important to me is to ensure that Indonesian children get nutritious food every day. We can save elsewhere, but not for the benefit of the nation’s children,” he said.
This visit confirms the government’s commitment to implementing its priority programs, while ensuring that the implementation of MBG runs effectively and has a positive impact on the nation’s next generation.
