Security Forces Successfully Prevent Judol Network Workers from Being Sent Abroad
Batam – Subdit IV Ditreskrimum Polda Kepri has secured 15 non-procedural Prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (CPMI) who were going to depart via Batam’s Harbourbay International Port.
Of the eight CPMIs who were secured, it is suspected that they will be employed in an online gambling (judol) site network in Myanmar, while seven others are known to be leaving for Malaysia.
Dirkrimum Polda Kepri, Kombes Pol Ade Mulyana said that the network used social media groups to avoid the police.
“Of the dozens of CPMIs we secured yesterday, no one is suspected of being the controller or companion. For the departure process, CPMIs who will go to Myanmar are directed through a Telegram group,” said Kombes Ade Mulyana.
Based on the results of the investigation, the eight CPMIs who are going to Myanmar only admitted that they will be employed as TikTok live broadcast hosts.
“For those who are leaving for Myanmar, they only admitted that they will be live broadcast hosts. However, we suspect online gambling based on the groups they are in,” he explained.
Currently, 11 of the 15 people have undergone examination, while four others are still in the process of being interrogated. Furthermore, they will be handed over to be repatriated through the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP3MI).
Meanwhile, there is a complaint service for the public who want to report online gambling cases, they can contact the service via Whatsapp with the number 085283555830, Email forumindonesiaemas@gmail.com, and Instagram with the account @fie_indonesiaemas, and Telegram t.me/ForumIndonesiaEmas.
