Budget Cuts in Ministries, Government Ensures It Will Not Disrupt Development
Jakarta – Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, ensured that budget cuts in the Ministry of Public Works (PU) will not hinder ongoing infrastructure development. He emphasized that budget efficiency remains in line with the planned project completion target. This step was taken to ensure that every planned project can run according to schedule without any significant obstacles.
“The PU Ministry is used to building, so our big target is to complete every project that is started. There must be no stalled projects, because that is not our principle,” said Minister Dody.
Dody explained that his party will optimize the budget that has been approved by the Ministry of Finance and the DPR effectively and transparently. This aims to ensure that infrastructure development provides optimal benefits for the community. The budget efficiency that is implemented will be focused on priority projects that have a direct impact on community welfare.
“We will increase productivity and reduce the Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR), so that every investment made truly brings maximum benefits to people’s lives,” he said.
In addition, budget efficiency will also be focused on optimizing infrastructure that has been built so that its impact is wider and more efficient. One of the steps that will be taken is to maximize the function of dams that have been completed by adding and rehabilitating irrigation networks.
This is expected to ensure the distribution of water to agricultural land, thereby increasing the planting index. With the increasing planting index, agricultural productivity is also expected to increase, which will ultimately contribute to national food security.
Dody also emphasized that cooperation with various parties, including local governments and the private sector, will continue to be strengthened to ensure the effectiveness of budget use. With good synergy, infrastructure development can run more efficiently without reducing the quality of the final result.
“The Ministry of Public Works is ready to work. We continue to optimize existing infrastructure to be more efficient and provide greater benefits to the community. With the right strategy, we are sure that development will continue according to plan and be able to improve the quality of life of the community,” he concluded.
