‘Dark Indonesia’ Action Not a Solution, Only Triggers National Instability
JAKARTA – The demonstration titled “Dark Indonesia” carried out by a handful of parties is considered to have the potential to create national instability and worsen the situation in the country.
While certain groups are calling for the action as a form of protest, the social and economic conditions of the community are actually showing stability, with shopping centers remaining busy, music concerts continuing, and people’s purchasing power still maintained.
President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the budget efficiency policy implemented by the government is on the right track and aims for the benefit of the people.
In his speech at the celebration of the 17th anniversary of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo expressed optimism that the policy will have a positive impact on the welfare of the community.
“Budget efficiency is a necessary step so that the economy remains stable and the people feel the benefits,” he said.
The President also appreciated the ministries that have adjusted the budget by IDR 306 trillion for the sake of efficiency.
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati also emphasized that budget efficiency does not result in layoffs of honorary workers in ministries and institutions.
In a press conference at the DPR RI Building, he ensured that budget reconstruction was carried out to maintain optimal public services.
“We ensure that efficiency measures or in this case the reconstruction of the ministry/institution budget does not impact honorary workers,” he said.
First Expert Statistician of BPS Nunukan, Ramadhan Wafid Mustafa, S.Tr.Stat, added that controlled inflation in the range of 1.5% to 3.5% does not have much effect on people’s purchasing power.
“If inflation is within stable limits, the economy continues to run well and people’s purchasing power is maintained,” he said.
In the midst of a situation that remains conducive, the “Dark Indonesia” action has the potential to cause unrest and disrupt national stability.
The public is urged to maintain order and not be easily provoked by movements that can worsen the situation in the country. (*)
