Rejecting the Provocation of the ‘Dark Indonesia’ Mass Action that Has the Potential to Disturb Public Order

JAKARTA – The call for a mass action entitled “Dark Indonesia” carried out by a handful of parties has the potential to disrupt public order and create national instability.

In the midst of an economic situation that is still maintained and community activities are running normally, the action is feared to only cause unrest and worsen the atmosphere in the country.

President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the budget efficiency policy currently being implemented by the government is on the right track for the benefit of the people.

In his speech at the peak of the 17th anniversary celebration of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo was optimistic that the budget efficiency steps would have a positive impact on the Indonesian people.

He also appreciated his ministers who had adjusted the ministry budget to reach IDR 306 trillion to ensure that the policy was effective.

In line with the budget efficiency policy, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati dismissed the issue of layoffs of honorary workers in ministries and institutions.

In a press conference at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, the Minister of Finance emphasized that there were no layoffs of honorary workers due to the efficiency policy.

“Regarding the news regarding the termination of employment or layoffs of honorary workers in the ministry and institutions, it is hereby conveyed that there are no layoffs of honorary workers in the ministry and institutions,” said Sri Mulyani.

The public’s purchasing power is also maintained, with inflation still within a safe range.

The First Expert Statistician of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Nunukan, Ramadhan Wafid Mustafa, S.Tr.Stat, emphasized that controlled inflation in the range of 1.5% to 3.5% does not have a significant impact on public purchasing power.

“So in theory, inflation has an impact on reducing purchasing power. But if inflation is controlled, controlled in the sense that it is in the range of 1.5 – 3.5, it does not have much effect on public purchasing power,” said Ramadhan,

The stable economic conditions are reflected in the high level of community activity in various sectors. Music concerts are still crowded, shopping centers are full of visitors, and public purchasing power remains strong.

Therefore, the narrative of “Dark Indonesia” echoed in the demonstration is considered not in accordance with the existing reality.

The public is urged not to be provoked by calls for action that have the potential to create fear and disrupt national stability. (*)
