The Success of Free Nutritious Meals Requires Support from All Parties
Jakarta – Full support from various parties is needed so that the free nutritious lunch program that is a priority of President Prabowo Subianto can run smoothly. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) ensures its contribution in supporting the success of this program.
Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Mahendra Siregar emphasized that the financial services sector will be directed to play an active role in encouraging growth and supporting the government’s budget limitations.
“We are optimizing the role of the financial services sector to accelerate the achievement of priority program targets, considering the limited capacity of the state budget,” said Mahendra.
Mahendra explained that OJK provides easy access to financing through special credit and guarantee schemes for farmers and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
In addition, the development of parametric insurance products is also one form of support provided. Collaboration between regional OJK offices with local governments and stakeholders will be increased to build a financing ecosystem for superior commodities in various regions.
“With this collaboration, food security and the supply chain for the free nutritious meal program can be strengthened,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) also expressed its full support for this program. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti emphasized that the free nutritious meal program must provide real benefits for the development of children in Indonesia.
“This program does not only focus on providing healthy food, but also on character building and improving health services,” said Abdul Mu’ti.
According to him, a strong commitment is needed for this program to be successful and have a significant impact on the quality of human resources in Indonesia.
“We want this program to not only contribute to the physical health of children, but also to their mental and character development,” he explained.
Abdul Mu’ti hopes that this program will be part of efforts to strengthen character in schools. He emphasized the importance of instilling spiritual values, togetherness, responsibility, and independence in the implementation of the free nutritious meal program.
With support from various parties, it is hoped that this program can be a real step in improving the welfare and quality of education of children in Indonesia.
