National Condition Under Control, Public Urged Not to Be Provoked by ‘Dark Indonesia’ Action

JAKARTA — The current national situation remains stable and under control. The government continues to ensure that the policies implemented are able to maintain public welfare.

Therefore, the call for mass action entitled ‘Dark Indonesia’ is considered baseless and only has the potential to cause panic among the public.

Hasan Nasbi, Head of the Presidential Communications Office, conveyed President Prabowo’s message that there will be no cuts to operational costs for higher education, the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) for College, or scholarships.

The President, added Hasan Nasbi, has also instructed that the policy of cutting the education budget must not be implemented.

“He also conveyed to friends from campuses that the president is very firm, operational costs for higher education, KIP for College, and scholarships must not be reduced at all,” said Hasan

In line with this, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati ensured that budget efficiency would not have an impact on the termination of employment (PHK) of honorary workers in ministries and institutions.

In a press conference at the DPR RI Building, he emphasized that no honorary workers were laid off due to the policy.

“We ensure that the efficiency measures or in this case the reconstruction of the budgets of ministries/institutions do not affect honorary workers,” he said.

In addition, the national economic condition remains stable with inflation controlled in the range of 1.5% to 3.5%.

The First Expert Statistician of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Nunukan, Ramadhan Wafid Mustafa, said that inflation in this range does not have a significant effect on people’s purchasing power.

“So what affects purchasing power is if inflation is not controlled, for example below 1.5 or above 3.5 like that,” he explained.

With the economic conditions and government policies running well, the ‘Indonesia Gelap’ action only has the potential to create unrest.

The public is advised not to be provoked and to continue their activities as usual, considering that shopping centers, music concerts, and other economic activities are still running normally. (*)
