Respect the Election Process by Supporting the Inaugurated Regional Heads

Jakarta – The inauguration of regional heads is an important part of the democratic process that must be respected by all elements of society.

With the inauguration of new leaders, regional governments can immediately run and provide the best service to the community.

Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Eddy Soeparno, fully supports President Prabowo Subianto’s decision to set the inauguration of regional heads on February 20, 2025.

According to him, this decision is the best solution to guarantee legal certainty while ensuring that services to the community are not hampered.

“Mr. Prabowo wants the community to immediately receive services from a definitive leader. However, at the same time, he still respects the Constitutional Court’s decision and the ongoing regional election dispute process,” said Eddy.

Eddy emphasized that the inauguration of regional heads must prioritize the interests of the people.

With the presence of leaders who have officially taken office, regional policies can be implemented immediately.

“The sooner the regional head starts working for the people, the better. As long as the inauguration is carried out according to the rules, we must respect and support the government’s decision,” he said.

At the regional level, support for the new regional head was also conveyed by the Acting Governor of Riau, Rahman Hadi.

When leading the roll call with all Riau Provincial Government employees, he emphasized the importance of the readiness of government officials in welcoming the new leadership.

“Therefore, I remind all Riau Provincial Government employees to be ready to work under the leadership of the new regional head,” he said.

Rahman Hadi explained that regional programs must be in line with national policies so that development can run optimally.

“There are several regional programs that need to be adjusted to national policies. This is a concern of the central government so that the development vision can run in line,” he explained.

He also emphasized that all employees must work professionally to support the success of the new leadership.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Information and Documentation Management Bureau (PID) of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Tjahyono Saputro, invited all elements of society to respect the decision of the General Election Commission (KPU) regarding the results of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.

According to him, accepting the election results is key to maintaining national unity and stability.

“We appeal to the public, religious leaders, and youth leaders to continue to invite the public to accept the election results that have taken place well,” said Tjahyono.

He also emphasized that in a democracy, differences are natural. However, the most important thing is how all elements of society unite again to build the nation. []
