Inauguration of Regional Heads Becomes Momentum to Reunite After Regional Elections
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated 961 regional heads and deputy regional heads at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (20/2). This inauguration procession made new history because it was the first time it was held simultaneously at the presidential palace.
“A total of 961 regional heads, consisting of 33 governors and 33 deputy governors, 363 regents, 362 deputy regents, 85 mayors, and 85 deputy mayors were inaugurated in one series of processions,” said Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana.
Furthermore, the inauguration of Regional Heads at the State Palace made new history because it was the first time it was held simultaneously at the presidential palace
“Marking a new chapter in regional governance in Indonesia,” he said.
With this simultaneous inauguration, it is hoped that coordination between the central and regional governments will be more effective in implementing national policies.
At the regional level, various parties have expressed their support for the newly formed government. Lampung Police Chief, Inspector General Helmy Santika, emphasized the police’s commitment to maintaining security and order after the inauguration.
“Lampung Police and the Police and Resort Police are committed to supporting all policies to create conducive public order and security in the Lampung community,” he said.
Helmy also invited all elements of society to support regional government programs so that development can run optimally.
“Let’s join hands, embrace each other, and support the policies of the governor and deputy governor that provide great benefits to the community,” he added.
Previously, Acting Governor of Riau Rahman Hadi reminded the importance of support from state civil servants (ASN) in the smooth running of the new regional government.
He emphasized that regional programs must be in line with national policies so that development runs sustainably.
“Therefore, on this occasion, I convey to all of you [Riau Provincial Government Employees] that you must be ready to face the government that will be led by this new regional head,” he said.
With this inauguration, all regional heads are expected to immediately carry out their duties to serve the community well and bring their respective regions towards greater progress.
