President Prabowo Subianto has officially inaugurated regional heads and their deputies at the State Palace on Thursday (20/2). The inauguration of regional heads resulting from the 2024 simultaneous regional elections is not just a ceremony, but an affirmation that the regional government is ready to move together towards a better future. Therefore, people throughout the country need to provide full support so that the new government can carry out its duties optimally.

Regarding this, the Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, emphasized that this simultaneous inauguration marks a new chapter in regional governance in Indonesia. This is not only a matter of leadership transition, but also a momentum to strengthen synergy between the central and regional governments. Every regional head who has been sworn in now bears a great responsibility to bring change and progress to their respective regions. However, without the support of the community, these efforts will not run optimally.

In maintaining stability after the inauguration, the security forces also played an active role. Lampung Police Chief, Inspector General Helmy Santika, emphasized the importance of public security and order (kamtibmas) as the main factor in supporting the leadership of the new regional head. Synergy between the regional government and the security forces is key to driving economic growth and improving people’s welfare. Therefore, all parties need to work together to maintain order and conduciveness for the smooth running of government.
The support given to the regional head does not mean without criticism, but in the form of active community participation in every policy taken. Lampung Police, together with the local Polresta and Polres, have stated their commitment to supporting the policies of the elected governor and deputy governor, including mayors and regents throughout the province. This step is an example that cooperation between regional leaders and security forces will accelerate development and improve the quality of public services.
Not only that, Helmy also invited all parties to join hands in making the government programs that have been designed to improve people’s welfare a success.
In addition to support from the apparatus, the role of state civil servants (ASN) cannot be ignored. Acting Governor of Riau, Rahman Hadi, reminded all employees of the Riau Provincial Government to prepare for the transition of government with full readiness and support. ASN have a strategic role in ensuring that regional head programs are in line with national policies, so that development can be more effective and sustainable. Professionalism and loyalty to duty are two main things that every civil servant must have so that the wheels of government run smoothly.
The dynamics of politics in Indonesia are always interesting to watch. However, after the inauguration of regional heads, it is time for all parties to unite and leave their differences behind for mutual progress. The election of regional heads has been completed, and those who now sit in the leadership seats are representatives of the people who have been entrusted to carry out their duties. Therefore, there is no reason to continue to be trapped in political polarization. In fact, this is the best momentum to build synergy between the government and the people in order to create a more prosperous Indonesia.
The public also needs to understand that development cannot be done instantly. Change requires a process, planning, and cooperation from all parties. By supporting the new government, the community is involved in creating conditions that are conducive to the realization of development programs. Constructive criticism is certainly still needed, but it must be delivered in a constructive manner so that the best solution can be found.
Currently, newly inaugurated regional heads face a big challenge in implementing their vision and mission. They are not only tasked with running the government, but must also be able to answer the expectations of the community. Therefore, support from various elements, including civil society, community organizations, and the business world, is greatly needed. With the involvement of all parties, accelerated development will be easier to achieve.
In addition, synergy between the central and regional governments must also be strengthened. The success of a region cannot be separated from good coordination with the central government. Therefore, regional heads who have been inaugurated must immediately formulate strategic steps that are in line with national policies. Thus, the development carried out can run sustainably and bring benefits to the entire community.
