MSME Development Involves Private Sector as Contribution to National Economy

Jakarta – The Prabowo-Gibran government continues to develop the empowerment of small, micro and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by involving the private sector to improve the national economy. The private sector’s contribution is carried out through various activities to advance MSMEs in Indonesia.

Shopee Indonesia is one of the private parties that has contributed to the development of MSMEs by launching the latest training program entitled “Online Class” as part of the Shopee MSME Campus. This program was first introduced in digital training for hundreds of housewives in Malang, East Java, through a collaboration program with the Ministry of Creative Economy entitled Emak-Emak Matic (Technology Literate Mothers).

The Indonesian Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, welcomed Shopee’s initiative in improving digital skills for housewives in Indonesia. By understanding technology and utilizing it optimally, they can improve family welfare and contribute to the national economy.

“Through this program, we want to ensure that every woman, especially mothers, has the same opportunity to develop in the digital era. They can not only improve family welfare, but also the national economy,” said Riefky.

Meanwhile, Head of Government Relations Shopee Indonesia, Balques Manisang, said that the Shopee Online Class UMKM Campus provides flexibility for business actors in 514 cities and districts in Indonesia to choose and take training according to their business needs.

“This program is expected to help UMKM develop their digital skills more easily. Both those who are just starting a business and those who want to expand their business in the digital ecosystem,” said Balques.

The same thing was also expressed by the Corporate Secretary of PT Askrindo, Syafruddin, that his party supports the development of MSMEs through guaranteeing People’s Business Credit (KUR) with a total ceiling reaching IDR 124 trillion in 2024.

“I have national data for 2024, during that year the KUR ceiling data that we have guaranteed was IDR 124 trillion. The amount of credit was distributed to around 2.3 million debtors who were able to absorb 3.3 million workers,” explained Syafruddin.

Syafruddin also said that the distribution of KUR and Askrindo’s support as collateral showed the government’s commitment to strengthening MSMEs and creating quality jobs, as one of the government’s visions contained in Asta Cita Number 3.

“His party is proud to be able to guarantee MSMEs and hopes to increase economic growth, as well as help MSMEs move up a class by expanding their outlets and sales lines,” he concluded.

The support of the private sector in developing MSMEs in Indonesia needs to be responded to and utilized as well as possible by the community. With good synergy between the government, private sector, and the community, it is hoped that MSMEs throughout Indonesia can be developed to be of higher quality and highly competitive.
