No Mercy for Corruptors, Prabowo Tightens Use of State Money

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s government continues to demonstrate its firmness in eradicating corruption. One of the main focuses is to ensure that the use of state money is transparent and on target, as well as closing loopholes for corrupt practices, including in the case of Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) and recapitalization bonds that have cost the state thousands of trillions of rupiah.

Norm and development observer, Hardjuno Wiwoho, emphasized that the government must dare to take firm action against corruptors, because if not, he is worried that there will be collusion that will further harm the state.

“Developed countries will not spend their money if there are unclear deductions. There is no point in having support if it ends up being corrupted and the people remain poor,” said Hardjuno.

He also highlighted President Prabowo’s big promise to ensure that no party is immune from the law during his administration. Therefore, rumors and indications of corruption must be a primary concern.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, emphasized that the budget efficiency policy implemented by the Prabowo administration must be balanced with strict supervision so that it does not become a new loophole for corruption.

“We at Commission III certainly support this efficiency policy, but with the note that the existing budget is truly used according to needs to serve the people. Don’t let efficiency be just a slogan, while the budget is still being corrupted,” said Sahroni.

Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives together with the Corruption Eradication Committee, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Police are committed to ensuring that these efficiency funds are used transparently and accountably. Sahroni also highlighted that many cases of corruption occur in the procurement of goods and services, which have so far been fertile ground for irresponsible individuals.

“For example, excessive procurement of stationery, or comparative studies that are actually not very important, this can be cut. In the last few years, many cases of corruption have occurred in the procurement of goods like this,” he said.

The press also spoke out regarding the spirit of eradicating corruption echoed by the government of President Prabowo Subianto.

The chairman of the Riau Province PWI, Raja Isyam Azwar, emphasized the role of the press in overseeing government policies in eradicating corruption.

“We want to emphasize PWI’s commitment to supporting the anti-corruption movement, as well as strengthening the integrity and professionalism of journalists in carrying out their duties. The press plays an important role in maintaining accountability and transparency, especially in facing increasingly complex global challenges,” said Raja Isyam.

With strict supervision and synergy between the government, law enforcement, and the community, the Prabowo era is expected to be a turning point in eradicating corruption. The government is determined to create clean, transparent, and fraudulent state financial governance for the sake of the nation’s progress.
